The future of WWE WM 23 who will be on top?

The future of WWE Taking a look at who will be sitting at the top of the WWE pile by Wrestlemania 23.

It’s still a long way away mind as that particular event won’t be until March 2007 but here’s my views on who will still be around then.

First let’s take a look at the big guns on Raw and SD.

The EX Champ Dave Batista. Will he still be main eventing in 2007, yes I believe he will. Will he be a title contender or champion probably not. I can’t see Dave succeeding again as a champ in his current character & with his current abilities therefore I don’t see a second title reign in his near future. Mind you that said Dave has the kind of look WWE loves so he could be a multiple champion.

HHH. Bar H3 & Steph’s marriage having difficulties I see no reason why H3 won’t still be around & dominating Raw in a year’s time. He will also be a strong contender for main eventing WM 23 possibly as a champ. Expect at least 1 more Title run in the mean time.

Chris Benoit. Benoit will still be doing what he is doing now, putting stars over & main eventing with out actually winning Worlld titles, I don’t see a second title run other than a caretaker run before he retires for the crippler. Still taht aside Benoit will likely have a match at WM 23

Kane. Can WWE drag much more out of the Kane character? There’s not a whole lot more they can do with this character that wouldn’t be repetitive. I can see major changes to the Kane character & possibly even a name change (to his real name?) before WM 23.

Shelton Benjamin. He will no doubt be a champion by WM 23 & probably a successful one as well, Shelton will play a big part in the future of WWE. OK maybe they won't give him a world title in the next year, still He is a big part of WWE's future I think

Edge. Will he win another world title in the next 12 months? Maybe. Will he have a big match at WM 23, yes.

The Divas. First Lita, barring a career ending injury (which the way she wrestles will be likely) Lita will still be around but will she ever bother wrestling again?.

The same goes for Trish Stratus & probably Victoria. Stacy may not be there though. Stacy doesn’t do much these days so WWE may let her go in one of it’s cost cutting moves or she may request a leave which is looking likely.

Candice will likely suffer the same fate as Christy in fact she may be released when the divas of this years diva search contest are hired. (Much like Nidia & Gail were for that matter.)

Much as I like Mickie James can WWE wring a whole year out of her character? Will she wrestle at WM 23?

As for the rest

Randy Orton. Will still be around & could be a two or more time champ by then. Orton is destined to have a great wrestling career bar he keeps p*****g off people and gets sacked.

Ric Flair will likely have an office job or will finally have retired. (Wishful thinking)

Shawn Michaels will be there still doing the living legend routine but just in a semi retired way.

People like Steven Richards, Val Venis & Simon Dean who are not used that much anyway are likely to be cut at some stage or other to make way for new signings.

MNM I hope are actually used at WM 23, I can't see them not being around although it all depends if both are pushed if they split.

Snitsky & Chris Masters I don’t see sticking around too long even Vince can see (I hope anyway) that there is little he can do with the likes of these Two.

I can See Daviri around but probably with a gimmick alteration. (Maybe even a face turn after all fans accepted Sgt Slaughter as a face even after his pro Iraq heel turn.)

Mark Henry. Well hi contract runs out after 10 years. Will he be re-hired? I say no.

Lashley, JBL and Finlay, Expect them all to do something at the event.

Undertaker. He will pin another midcarder or Main eventer.

Kurt Angle. If he's fit the will be on the card.

As for non WWE talent being on Raw & being there at WM 23.

AJ Styles will likely be hired & just as likely be misused by then so he may be on the card.

Hulk Hogan will probably be there doing something as Will Steve Austin.

Chris Jericho. Jericho has said more than once that he wants to retire young & concentrate on his music which he is doing & I can see him doing just that for a while yet but I think he will play some part in wm 23.

CM Punk, will never debut incidently.

Do you seriously believe that Batista will not win a World title again? Batista is one of the biggest draws in WWE at the moment, and was the most over guy on SmackDown before he was injured, and the whole time he's been gone he's been saying he's coming back to get the title, which means he'll still be in the main event. And yet, he'll never win another title? I do like how you covered youself at the end by saying he could be World Champ again, anyway.

HHH. Bar H3 & Steph’s marriage having difficulties I see no reason why H3 won’t still be around & dominating Raw in a year’s time. He will also be a strong contender for main eventing WM 23 possibly as a champ. Expect at least 1 more Title run in the mean time.

I serioulsy hope he's not in the main event again, but he most likely will be. There are so many others that could be in the main event though. Yeah, as of right now, you could argue there are none worthy enough, but WrestleMania 23 is a year away, so anyone could main event. I just really hope Triple H doesn't.

Chris Benoit. Benoit will still be doing what he is doing now, putting stars over & main eventing with out actually winning Worlld titles, I don’t see a second title run other than a caretaker run before he retires for the crippler. Still taht aside Benoit will likely have a match at WM 23

Yeah, pretty much agree with that. Even though I'd love to see another Benoit World Title run, I seriously doubt Chris Benoit will ever get another one, and if he does, it will simply be as a transitional champion. He'll stay around the upper mid-card until he retires.

Kane. Can WWE drag much more out of the Kane character? There’s not a whole lot more they can do with this character that wouldn’t be repetitive. I can see major changes to the Kane character & possibly even a name change (to his real name?) before WM 23.

Kane's been repetitive and boring for quite sometime now, but still somehow manages to stay over. I agree he does need some major changes, but him changing to his real name, or doing anything other than a monster gimmick would be a very bad idea.

Shelton Benjamin. He will no doubt be a champion by WM 23 & probably a successful one as well, Shelton will play a big part in the future of WWE. OK maybe they won't give him a world title in the next year, still He is a big part of WWE's future I think

He won't be a World Champion by next year, but he should be a strong upper mid-carder. He's been developing more of a personality lately, and has been getting back to his old self. Still, a World title run is still a long ways off for Shelton.

Edge. Will he win another world title in the next 12 months? Maybe. Will he have a big match at WM 23, yes.

He could win another World title later this year, but I really don't know. The title could go to so many people this year, HHH, Cena, RVD, Edge, possibly even Shawn Michaels, who knows? But as for him at WrestleMania 23, he will without a doubt have a big match considering they're playing off his undefeated streak.

As for the rest

Randy Orton. Will still be around & could be a two or more time champ by then. Orton is destined to have a great wrestling career bar he keeps p*****g off people and gets sacked.

Orton will probably get the World Title when he returns, and have that long awaited feud with Batista, where he loses it. As for what he'll be doing at WrestleMania, I have no idea.

Ric Flair will likely have an office job or will finally have retired. (Wishful thinking)

I seriously doubt Flair will have retired or stopped wrestling (bar an injury of course). But he still shouldn't be as wrestling as much as he does. Maybe just save him for the Big Four PPVs or something. Again, as for him at Mania next year, no idea.

Shawn Michaels will be there still doing the living legend routine but just in a semi retired way.

He'll probably be used like I just suggested for Flair whenever his semi-retirement begins. At WrestleMania next year, I'd expect him to face someone he's never fought before or had a good feud with, like maybe RVD or Booker T.

People like Steven Richards, Val Venis & Simon Dean who are not used that much anyway are likely to be cut at some stage or other to make way for new signings.

Yep, this will be the year that, despite never being fired all those other years, Val Venis and Stevie Richards will be cut. None of those 3 will ever be released, in my opinion. Every company needs jobbers, and these are 3 of the main ones.

MNM I hope are actually used at WM 23, I can't see them not being around although it all depends if both are pushed if they split.

I've heard rumours already that they are considering splitting the team up, and unless they have more established teams to face other than the Mexicools, Londrick, and Gymini, they could just get stale.

Snitsky & Chris Masters I don’t see sticking around too long even Vince can see (I hope anyway) that there is little he can do with the likes of these Two.

SNITSKY is a guy that is great for comedy skits, like Goldust. I don't really see him being released. Masters is being pushed to the moon despite no reaction, and I seriously doubt he'll ever be released.

I can See Daviri around but probably with a gimmick alteration. (Maybe even a face turn after all fans accepted Sgt Slaughter as a face even after his pro Iraq heel turn.)

Someone I was talking to in the chatroom, Clarkey I believe, has said Daivari could play a manager guy for a while, continually brining in guys to try and take down Undertaker. Even if they don't go that route, he could manage anyone, and when that's done, he could go to the Cruiserweight division. I doubt he'll have a big match at next year's WrestleMania though.

Mark Henry. Well hi contract runs out after 10 years. Will he be re-hired? I say no.

I say yes. I honestly think he'll be rehired with a reduced contract.

Lashley, JBL and Finlay, Expect them all to do something at the event.

Well, yeah. Unless they're injured or released, which I highly doubt, they'll have something to do at WrestleMania. Duh.

Undertaker. He will pin another midcarder or Main eventer.

He could possibly face Edge, and give Edge the win, with it being Undertaker's last WrestleMania ever. Of course, he probably wouldn't lose, and it wouldn't be his last WrestleMania. I believe the past 3 friggin' years people have guaranteed Taker would retire after WrestleMania and he's still here.

Kurt Angle. If he's fit the will be on the card.

Again, duh.

As for non WWE talent being on Raw & being there at WM 23.

AJ Styles will likely be hired & just as likely be misused by then so he may be on the card.

Unless TNA folds, I seriously, seriously doubt AJ would go to WWE. He'd be in OVW forever as he'd have to adapt to the WWE style, and he makes more money now than he would if he was in OVW, I would think.

Hulk Hogan will probably be there doing something as Will Steve Austin.

Unless Hogan is at Mania fighting Austin, I hope he's not there. That match needs to happen, really, really badly. They have a year to try and change Austins mind.

Chris Jericho. Jericho has said more than once that he wants to retire young & concentrate on his music which he is doing & I can see him doing just that for a while yet but I think he will play some part in wm 23.

I can see Jericho coming back sometime later this year. He'll start to miss it eventually, assuming he's like most retired wrestlers, and want to come back. At least I hope so. I miss Jericho. :(

CM Punk, will never debut incidently.

He already debuted. He's an official member of the Chain Gang.
