Omega 354
Looking back at Butchill match on SD last week are the WWE going to turn him Heel? I for one hope not as I loved the idea of Paul doing the whole pirate bit as a face. With the whole Jack Sparrow thing it would have made sense. I fear that the amount of positive work Paul has done would be lost if the crowd turn on him. The pirate dimmick doesn't work as a heel as he'd have to be taking it to seriously. Were as done face, with a wink to camera saying "i know I'm not really a pirate but it's a good laugh" makes it that more believable and therefore works better.... Guest rawiswar
I agree, they betta not ruin it all and turn him heel.
Guest Slim Jim
They just turned him face and have this really over face character, so what would be the point. The reason he walked out on the tag match, was to let Regal get his ass whooped 2 on 1. I thought it was obvious.
Guest MrFill
The reason he walked out on the tag match' date=' was to let Regal get his ass whooped 2 on 1. I thought it was obvious.[/quote'] But that's a very heelish action.
Ryan 188
But that's a very heelish action. But Regal's a heel, and by walking out and letting Gymini kick his ass, he's letting the fans see a bad guy getting beat up.
Omega 354
but face's don't leave a match, that's what heels do as it's a cowardly action.
Guest Russ
There's no way he's turning heel. Johnny Ace wants him to be the next big British hero who'll be able to draw in his home country and sell out larger venues along the lines of Davey Boy Smith. You can always tell when a heel turn is coming along by the not-so-subtle hints dropped from the announce team. On Smackdown, face announcer Michael Cole seemed to praise what he did, so there's no chance of a turn. It wouldn't make sense to have a midcard comedy act playing up to the younger fans turn heel anyway. If they can keep The Hurricane around until the gimmick becomes so stale it's boring to watch, I'm sure they can do the same for Burchill. Guest MojoPogo
but face's don't leave a match' date=' that's what heels do as it's a cowardly action.[/quote'] Dude, he's a PIRATE. They're know for being double dealers, plus, they're trying to do the whole Jack Sparrow thing, and if you dont recall, he was more than willing to leave an ex-partner (also a heel!) up sh*t creek! I actually thought it was pretty cool, and no less than Regal would have done to him. Expect payback next week though.....:xyx
Guest MrFill
But Jack Sparrow came back, he helped his ex-partner (friend), because Sparrow is a pirate with a heart of gold - a Heart of Gooooold, the most precious metal in the wooooorld. Guest CoTT
Burchill should never have turned face and been given a pirate gimmick in the first place. He was progressing nicely as a heel to be reckoned with and Johnny Ace is absolutely insane if he thinks the British public are gonna jump onto the Pirate Burchill bandwagon overnight and give him the same kind of attention as the British Bulldog got. No-one knows who Burchill really is, and they're less likely to care because of his ridiculous gimmick. Had they built him up as a monster heel an eventual face turn would have been much more successful if only they practiced a bit of patience. Guest Slim Jim
Well he is a lot more over as the face pirate than he was as the heel generic person.
Guest poland74
I think until otherwise proved wrong, the reason Burchill walked out on Regal was to make him suffer on his own but also let him lose the match so he no longer has to dress up in all those different outfits every week as Burchill officially lost the match as well. Guest Dazoggsta
but face's don't leave a match' date=' that's what heels do as it's a cowardly action.[/quote'] Seeing as Regal tried to screw Burchill into a loss the week before, isnt it punishment for that action by walking out and letting him get beaten up? And Burchill's more memorable as a pirate, more recognisable, i think anyway.

Guest Dazoggsta
But Regal is the heel' date=' a face shouldn't do the same as a heel does, otherwise they're not a face.[/quote'] But as Antihero said, he is a pirate, and pirates do heelish things like that, even if they are overall a face. The way he acted as he was walking away was a kind of 'can you blame me' action. The way i see it is he's still a face, just exacting punishment, or justice, on the heel. Burakiosaurus 129
i dont like Burchill's finisher
Guest Down In Albion
I was a bit suprised by Burchill's actions on Smackdown! also but i don't think there is a chance they will turn him, it just wouldn't work and would be counter-productive. I've been enjoying his pirate gimmick, for the record. I guess it was 'paying Regal back' after he tried to lose Burchill a match the other week. It would have maybe been less confusing if they were faces a babyface tag team, and not a heel tag team in The Gymini. Also, doesn't Burchill's music sound like the music they play when you are waiting to get on a ride at Alton Towers? :lol
Guest Slim Jim
Many faces have done heel things.
Guest Down In Albion
Many faces have done heel things. Oh yeah of course, i mean 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin basically turned the whole thing on it's head back in the late 90's and these days faces use steel chairs and low blows etc, when back in the old days only heel's would, but it's still a slightly weird way of booking someone who is trying to get himself over and has just turned face. Omega 354
but he'd played the Pirate gimmick as just that, a gimmick not that he really was a pirate. That was what was good about it. He was "playing" a pirate to camera, always with a wink to camera saying he knew he wasn't actaully a pirate. unlike someone like Kane who's character is taken as "real".... Plus whatever you say about what pirates do the real point is when was the last time you saw a face character EVER walk out on a opponent except at the beginning of a heel turn?
