Kam 243
PLEASE NOTE: THIS THREAD WILL CONTAIN RAW SPOILERS BEFORE IT AIRS ON MONDAY AS IT IS BEING TAPED IN THE UK ON FRIDAY 21ST APRIL! Preview: Before the Backlash April 24, 2006 Just one week before Backlash, Mr. McMahon has offered his only begotten son Shane as a sacrifice in a Handicap Match this Monday night on RAW when he takes on HBK and his tag team partner - God. Last week, Edge gained Backlash momentum by dropping Triple H with a spear and picking up the Handicap victory. But who will emerge as WWE Champion from the Triple Threat Match at the pay-per-view on April 30? There will be immense pressure on Rob Van Dam and Shelton Benjamin when RAW emanates from London. Their Backlash match is now “Winner Take All” with both the “Money in the Bank” briefcase and the Intercontinental Championship on the line. Shelton is desperate to protect his gold, while RVD refuses to lose his coveted world championship opportunity. What will these two competitors do to gain an edge before their stipulation-rich pay-per-view encounter? The former World Tag Team Champion have each dropped the other with a chokeslam on RAW. Will they clash again before their Backlash match … and god help anyone who mentions Kane’s movie release date of May 19. With McMahonism sweeping WWE, how will Shawn Michaels respond on RAW? And what will Mr. McMahon do after seemingly receiving some unwanted signs from above last week? The past two weeks, Trish Stratus has had some mind games of her own for obsessed, psycho Women’s Champion Mickie James. Will Trish have another Mickie-like plan for the last RAW before their Women’s Championship Match at Backlash?
Guest Twig
- Despite some people being against booking God at Backlash, nobody is stepping up to Vince McMahon to tell him how they feel. Speaking out against Vince's ideas is considered pretty much career suicide. - A lot of people backstage were pleased to hear all the boring chants that Vince got at RAW during his long promo, as they silently felt the same way. Vince didn't acknowledge the chants once he got backstage and acted like it didn't happen. So it's pretty much the entire fanbast that's not enjoying this whole God thing. Personally, I don't find it offensive, just stupid, boring wrestlecrap. You think this could affect Backlash buyrates as well? Or even this week's Raw ratings? Guest Wolverine
WWE.com reports that "Vince has offered his only begotten son Shane as a sacrifice in a handicap match against Shawn Michaels and God this Monday night on Raw." That should be fun.
Guest Danny Styles
not anymore WWE.com have changed the preview for this Monday's episode of Raw. The original preview read... "Just one week before Backlash, Mr. McMahon has offered his only begotten son Shane as a sacrifice in a Handicap Match this Monday night on RAW when he takes on HBK and his tag team partner - God." The updated preview reads this... While flying over the Atlantic Ocean Thursday afternoon, Mr. McMahon had an epiphany. The Chairman will no longer be sacrificing his son Shane in a Handicap Match against HBK and "God" this Monday night. Instead, his son Shane will be facing HBK in one-on-one action on RAW. When news broke out that Shane McMahon would be sacrificed on Raw, it did cause quite a bit of controversy. [/Quote] it's changed now
Guest Slim Jim
Does that mean we have to wait another week to see God? Ah poop.
Guest Nemesis Enforcer
So looks like another long winded Vince talking session on Raw then, with Shane probably getting in on the act too... not thrilling me at this moment!
Guest Clarkey
The cynic in me makes me think the real reason for God being dropped from the Shane/Michaels match is to cut costs on the pyrotechnic's they had to bring over. I'm interested to see where the Trish/Mickie spiel will lead, I'd argue still the best fued in the WWE at current. And an appearance by Armando hopefully. Oh and since I missed this weeks I would be more then happy to be enlightened into the details of McMahonism. I heard Dave7g was first in line to pay homage. Guest Slim Jim
Totally awesome. Crowd was absolutely on fire (not literally). On Heat got to see SnitskyDust, Kane, Show, Eugene and Murdoch all in matches. Trying to remember it all it was soooo great! Raw started with a huge pyro followed by a wicked 3 way promo witht the Backlash main event, interupted by the Spirit Squad who announced the main event Cena/HHH/Edge vs all 5 of them. There was a bikini contest which Candice won. Viscera then came out beat and beat up Coach including some Visagra. RVD/Carlito/Haas beat Shelton/Striker/Masters. HBK took an elbow through the announce table. There was no appearence from God. There was a little catfight between Mickie (as Mickie with skirt!) and Trish (as Mickie with skirt!). Umaga beat some jobber. It was Steve Lewington who was at the Smackdown in Birmingham when he interupted Carlito's Cabana with Angle. Then Flair came out and drove him away. Unfortunately no mic work from Estrrrrrrrrrrrrada, but one more match added for Backlash. I'm not sure if the main event finished, but it ended with the predictable, but awesome break down of Cena/HHH/Edge. Edge and Lita were watching on the ramp while Cena and HHH went at it. They were pummeling each other on the mat and whenever HHH was on top - huge pop, then Cena would roll it over - huge boos. Totally awesome. After the show had finished Cena did a promo about real recognising real, that same old bull, but I went down to ringside and was right behind Styles and King (Coach had left after his beat down :D) and really close to Cena in the ring. Yet again, totally awesome! I made Lilian come over and slap some hands when she was heading over in the other direction. Never washing my hand again. Pop of the night - HHH Heat of the night - Cena Can't remember much else... erm, the This Week in Wrestling History was the black wedding... that's about it. Just to add the most important thing. Vince explained last weeks pyros.. it was an unfortunate coincidence. He sorted it out with the head pyro technician, and then he fired him. Seemed there were quite a lot of Cena fans in Wembley. More than what you hear on TV and definitely more from what i saw in Chicago.

Guest the HiTman
Not great. Good to see Shane O'Mac in a match live. Kane's entrance BANG frightened the bejesus out me!..so freakin sudden and loud!!! RVD's music sounds so taint live. Pops: Show (heat) Kane (heat) Mickie Trips Decent for HBK, RVD and even Carlito and Haas too. Heel heat: Edge Boo's: Cena Nothing: Umaga P.S. Who were the two 'TWO' guys sitting in front of me colouring in their TWO sign during the show? :P. One was wearing a blue Carlito T-shirt, the other the Yellow Hulkamania T-shirt...possibly Belty??? :P
Guest Danny Styles
Such an awsome show, i do knock WWE but i enjoy seeing them live it is a great expereince Heat was all good, Eugene being MEGA over Raw was ok, the 6 man with RVD was a very good match, Striker has some good heat Shane vs Shawn was good with the table spot at the end (friggin awsome to watch) Main event was ok, the fans pissed all over Cena and glad to say stifled any girl/ little kids Cena chant, some guy infront of me was screaming for Cena to retire, i like him may not have been the best show ever but seeing it live was so awsome i don't even care but i did get a high 5 from Lilian as welll :P

Guest GURRRRR
Ah yes. Hi mate. :D yeh decent show Did you see that big scuffle for that Cena t-shirt that Todd Grisham threw into the crowd! :lol
Guest Slim Jim
That bit was hilarious. Todd couldn't understand the Scottish woman. "Sorry, you're gonna have to shout" "LINDSAY" "No, let's try someone else"

Guest Steve O
It was a great show everyone was cheering Cena at the end so I was happy. I mean when the cameras stoped rolling.
Guest Dickie Hyde
Some we're, and there were some like me. "DX DX DX DX DX!"
Guest Steve O
Yeah I know he asked who liked DX and then who liked him and he actually got the crowd to cheer him
Guest the HiTman
It was a very high pitched cheer though (ladies and kids)..and the boo boys could still be heard...most were chanting DX so there was less booing.
Guest Steve O
No mate lets be honest here Cena got 80% 20% all night with 80 booing him but when he gave that sppech at the end pretty much everyone cheered him. If any one saw me I was the one in s14 chanting Cena all night and standing up doing it also.
Guest Dickie Hyde
LoL, there was not so many boo's at the end because when Cena mentioned DX, most were chanting "DX DX DX!" and even when Cena said who was supporting him in the building, most were still chanting "DX DX DX!" just the women and children spoke up a bit more :P
Guest WordLife19
Hmm, my tape missed the first 10 minutes of Raw, because of a techincal fault with Sky. Anyone else have this problem? Sounds like all those who went had a good time :) I wish I could've gone! Raw was ok, it seemed like a bit of a filler episode though, being away from the US & all. They always seem to bring out Visera when they come to over here :D I think he's been quite over ever since the last 'banger who likes to mash' skit with Trish :D So, Mickie has gone back to being Mickie, but Trish is still Mickie...I actually found the Spirit squad kind of amusing this week *gasp* Edit: btw, my fave sign of the night was 'Cena buys his blings at Argos' :D Edited April 25, 2006 by WordLife19
