Dutt
Following an angle taped Wednesday night at Ohio Valley Wrestling’s final television taping of the year in Louisville, an OVW trainer took Matt Cappotelli to a local hospital. Cappotelli received a stiff shot to the head from Chris Cage, who in the angle, turned against the OVW champion. A test has revealed a brain tumor, pending follow up testing to determine if the tumor is malignant. We have learned that the results of the test should be known early next week. Cage is said to be devastated, as you might imagine. “Matt sounded like Matt, but his spirits are down,” said a source that spoke to Cappotelli by phone. On a side note, Gerweck.net has learned that the current plan is for Cappotelli to be called up to the main roster in 2006, and form a “reality type” tag team with Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, who is currently training in Deep South. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Matt Cappotelli, and his friends and family Source: Gerweck.net Ah sh*t, just when he was gonna be pushed to the moon on Smackdown this happens. :evil

Anime Otaku
Malignant means its brain cancer, benine (sp?) means its just a growth.
Sav
If it's malignant, it means it can spread which sadly means death is more likely.
Dead Crow
Good luck to the guy. I enjoyed his OVW work a lot. Thoughts go out to Chris Cage too. It's the nature of the business, but it's gotta be hard on him nonetheless :xyx

Dutt
I don't know about pushed to the moon' date=' but still really sad, i hope he gets better.[/quote'] Well maybe not to the moon, but at least into orbit :roll . I remember seeing him on Tough Enough and thinking how good his look was, and how he could have a promising future if used properly. Hope he gets over this hurdle and gets himself onto Smackdown, for a bright future.. Well ok then maybe Raw lol :thumbsup
MrFill
It's a real pity and I hope they can do something, because he seemed like a good worker from what I saw. I hope he has a speedy recovery.
Brick
Shame indeed, so he's going to move up to WWE once he recovers or stay in OVW for a bit longer?
Dutt
Shame indeed' date=' so he's going to move up to WWE once he recovers or stay in OVW for a bit longer?[/quote'] I'd imagine he'd be down in OVW for a while to work off any ring-rust, prior to deuting. WWE
Best of luck to him, and what a time to be injured eh?, Christmas. :( Plus, it was the last taping of 2005.
cenarules
I've heard a lot of good things about Cappotelli. It sucks to hear this. Get well soon, Matt.
MojoPogo
Indeed. No one deserves something like this to happen at Christmas. His family must be worried sick too. Hopefully they've caught it early and it can be treated. get well soon mate.
FreeSpirit
Hope surgery goes well for Matt and he makes a quick recovery. Ive seen him wrestle a couple of dark matches on my travels and he's always seemed like a decent worker to me.
Kanenite
Such bad news. I have seen him a few times and he wasn't all that bad in the ring at all. My thoughts go out to him and his family and I hope he makes a good recovery. Good luck to Matt.
Danny Styles
he's a good worker but MAJOR league injurty prone.. he was going to be called up last year but got injured.. thanks to Holly i think... He has the look and the talent.. personally i think he should have been in MNM instead of Mercury.. it would suit him more... i pray he'll be ok and look forward to seeing him in the future:)
Buff
wow when ever he's about to called up to the roster something bad always happens to him to prevent it.i really hope he gets better and gets the call up to the main roster soon. Gooneronastick
Is this the guy that got beat up by that tosser Holly on Tough Enough? Seems a damn shame for him and obviously hope that the growth is benign. Hopefully it's a simple surgery and he can get back to the ring in full health. Buff
yes he is the one that got beat up by hardcore holly on the show.
Brad
Well I persoanlly don't like the comments that have said they on;y want him back so he can go to WWE. Maybe he might even retire after he gets over this, a brain tuma isn't really like a muscle strain is it. My thoughts go out to him and his family and i hope a speedy recovery for HIS sake and not for the WWE's or OVW's.
The Beltster
Jushin Lyger recovered from a brain tumour and continued with his storied career, hopefully Matt will get the same opportunity, or more importantly, at least an opportunity to live a full live, regardless of whether he is a wrestler or not. Accidents do happen. Hopefully everything will be okay for Matt. Our thoughts and prayers will be with him.:)
