Well West Ham need to be active in January, we look like we'll be losing our right back as Thomas Repka's family have moved back to his home country, and he isnt happy being so far from them. He may not be the best player in the world, but when he is on form he is a great defender. So we'll have to be after a right back.

Our strikers, well before the last window shut we were soooo close to signing Beni McCarthy. Will we be after him again? hopefully, but Pardew has openly admitted his interest in Andy Johnson, which is not the way we need to go i think. We need to bring in an established striker who scores more goals in regular play than from penalties!

United need striker cover.

Saha isn't up to full fitness and did not do the business against Everton in the absence of Ruud...

Hopefully we will tie up the Ballack scenerio one way or the other...

We also need left back cover and centre midfield creativity as we are looking weak in these areas...

Also we may need a new manager at the end of the season...

United look set to get Nigel De Jong who is a fantastic prospect. He's comfirmed he won't sign a new contract and Ajax most definitly will want to cash in on him (Reckoned to be 1 million fee) before the summer when he can walk for free (Much like Ballack).

Maniche could be coming to United in January but it's more likely the summer.

Diarra of Lyon is reported to have his heart set on a move to United in the summer so he can try to do well for Lyon before he goes, so I don't expect that in January.

I expect United to make a least a bid for a world class centre back, at least a bid. No idea who would want to come though. Perhaps Kompany but then Chelski will just hijack the bid.

United players will be sold aswell.

I expect Saha (Assuming we get another midfielder then Smithy can join the forwards where he belongs), Silvestre (Although I do think he would be effective at left back) and possibly Ronaldo if United want to cash in some huge team like Madrid making a bid. I know some people might question why to sell him but if you got say 15 million for him and then bought Morten Gamst Pedersen from Blackburn who in my opinion is more effective for say 5 million at most, you'd still have 10 million to spend on other players.

Of course I'm not Fergie but those transfers would at least help us challenge Chelsea.

Anyway United will be the most active in the transfer window trust me.

It has to be said that this season Ronaldo has been no where near reaching the stellar potential he showed in the past two...

Although the death of your father and the fake accusations of rape may do that to you.

I believe Silvestre is fine but a bid for defensive cover is a priority.

As for Saha? Another case of Birtles, Brazil and Forlan syndrome... Great somewhere else but in the Red jersey jinxed...

As for those other transfer suggestions? I agree competely with them, all good calls.

Have to agree on Morten Gamst Pedersen' date=' could very well be the most underated player in the Premiership. best thing Souness ever did for Blackburn was bring him in. Shame he never played under him.[/quote']

He's only 24 aswell which everyone seems to miss. Scores two belters against United at Old Trafford. Certainly worth an enquiry I feel.

To be honest, in all fairness I don't see why people blame Fergie. Fair enough some of his buys in recent years have been shockingly bad to say the least but tactics wise he usually does the business. I think some United fans forget we have a midfield some Championship sides might feel confident against on there day. Fair enough Scholes is still the lil Ginger Zidane, but we are using a centre forward as a defensive midfielder and whilst Smudger plays his heart and I'm one of Smithy's biggest fans, he's a wreckless tackler and doesn't do alot to control the game. Sure he tackles the **** outa Essien etc and wins the game mentally I guess but that won't do for United to move on.

Ronaldo isn't playing well but that could change at any time, although as I said he could very well be sold sooner or later.

Fletcher is shite. Full Stop.

Giggs is still solid enough and so is Park. But we have no midfielder that strikes fears into the opposition like Keano did. I'm not saying we need a Roy Keane, but we need a world class defensive midfielder and quick smart.

Therefore I can't blame Fergie, he's playing with what he's got.

He changed our system and it isn't working... He changed our style of play and it isn't working... He bought some duff players and we haven't got through to the knock out stages in the CL for the first time in 12 years...

Yeah he is playing with a side that isn't a patch in the midfield area of previous Man Utd sides but at the end of the day it's still better then most of the Premiership and the potential balance and the skill in there should be enough is used right...

What about Alan Smith? I rate him pretty highly, and when used in his proper position, he can be great really. It would also be the ideal situation if Ballack does end up playing the United, seeing as Smith only got a chance in midfield, because of the lack of talent there.

As for Bolton. They don't need anyone really. However, I would like to see some new talent, and knowing Sam's eye for prospects, i will obviously add to our team. I'm always hoping for another Jay Jay really, which would be fantastic.

Well at least Man United don't need to worry about European tied players ;)

I don't think Burnley will be making any purchases during the January window, basically because we aint got a dime to rub together.

I do however belive that rangers will bring a few new faces in with it being rumored that Alex mcleish will have a bit of money to spend, but they will have to try and find players who are not cup tied for the Champions League so maybe Kris Boyd is a possibility, heard Jim Jeffieries on the tv over the weekend and he basically said that they can't really stand in his way if a club the size of rangers came calling.

It will be intresting to see how Keane settles in at Madrid if the move comes off. I can see Keane laying into the likes of Fletcher and Ferdinand at United, but can you seeing him have as much clout in the Real Madrid dressing room with the likes of Raul, Zidane and Guti all of whom are supposdly locker room leaders. And with no one like Fergerson there to curb Keane i can see this move heading for disaster already.

But yes a Keane type player is something that Real Madrid are in desperte need of at the moment.

As long as Fergie is in charge of United, everyone can kiss goodbye to the thought of Fletcher being sold, and on Morten Gamnst Pedersen, hes a good player in the Premiership but he hasnt proved it at the top level yet i.e champions league like he could do well but United need proven players, and as for Ballack hes a great player but I doubt united will get him.Keane to Madrid??I dont have a clue why he would want to go jump right in the middle of a circus??I hope he dont go to them.

Well it's between Madrid and Man U for Ballack...

If Keane goes to Madrid on anything more then a year long deal then I can see Ballack looking at his first team options and going for Man Utd...

As for the Smith situation that Jack mentioned? Well if Ballack comes then I'd love to see Smudger up front as he was like the re-incarnation of Mark Hughes at the start of last season before an injury lay off and the re-structuring of the side around Rooney....

But Fergie is getting blind in some areas or just too damn stubborn in that he can't see we have better players then Fletcher and that Smith WILL be a defensive midfielder....

Everyone seems to be forgetting something. Man United are still over £500million in debt. They don't have the finances to buy world-class players anymore. I have no idea why Ferguson turned down Ballack because he would have been a great replacement for Scholes and was free. He's not going to have many better options. As for Gamst Pedersen, he appears to be a good player and is probably affordable but United already have two good left-wingers (Park and Giggs). Other areas such as central midfield need to be concentrated on first. Someone like Diop would be ideal for United (or Arsenal for that matter).

I don't have to worry myself about Villa's spending anyway. O'Leary has just said that we have no transfer budget to buy players with next month. :evil

No...

Man Utd aren't £500 million in debt...

Malcolm Glazier has laons which if not paid off may result in his business empire falling into debt in which case as a piece of it THEN Man U would be in the crapper...

As for Park? He can play on the right and Giggs doesn't have long left at the club as nearly every summer there is always a story about him being off...

And now he is what? 33 or so? Not long left at all...

But I agree, Ballack and Diarra of Lyon (who was better then Essien IMO) are two good midfield signings we could get cheap as and that would solve any problems in centre midfield.

And exactly how do you think Glazer is going to pay off these loans? By taking the money from Manchester United itself. And with United going out of the Champions' League, there's going to be even less money available for you to spend next month.

By the way, I agree that Diarra would be a good signing for United if you lot can get him.

The fact that you only spent £6 million in the summer, when it was obvious that United's team desperately needed to be improved in order to compete with Chelsea should be an indication of their financial problem. We'll see soon enough whether merchandise sales are enough to balance out Glazer's debts. Their popularity is likely to fall due to their lack of recent success, after all, meaning that less merchandise will be sold. But I wouldn't worry about not qualifying for the CL, you'll make it comfortably enough.

Saha was banging in the goals before he got injured I think hit would be foolish to sell He's a much better striker than Alan Smith

I disagree. People may not see it but Saha is an Henry wannabe.

Wheras Smudger is something totally different, I think Smith the striker is awesome if given a run of games. His goal against Norwich last season proved he's quality. I'd pick Smudger over Saha any day interms of up front.
