The Great Ahmar
A common question i ask myself after watching one of his matches. I doubt that he will, but hopefully he may. I think this because of his size. With Batista injuried maybe it will happen!
Snakeman
all though rey fights the big guys all the time i don't think he will ever win the chsmpionship tag team or cruiserweight is the limit for rey .
MrFill
It's well known that Vince loves big men, and Rey Rey is far from big. So, the best I can ever see him getting to is US level.
HH-Evolution
Asking that is like asking if Big Show would ever qualify for the cruiserweight championship...Oo A big, FAT No there. XD If he wanted a world title, he'd need to triple his size, weight, and sleeping arrangements with Vince. :P
Keith Would
It's well known that Vince loves big men, and Rey Rey is far from big. So, the best I can ever see him getting to is US level. Don't be ridiculous, it is nothing to do with Vince liking big men, it is to do with the fact that Rey is just too small, he would be more at home in the juniors division that World Champion. It would just not be believable, you can only suspend belief so far. If he tried to put the belt around his waist, it would tower over his head. Paul
Rey won a VERY beliveable match against Nash back in WCW. Spike won some VERY beliveable matchs in ECW against Bam Bam Bigalow, Sid and Mable. Plus as any MMA fan will tell you: size really isnt evrything. MrFill
Rey had a decent match against JBL and almost beat him when Eddie ran in - JBL was Champ for 10 months, so it is "feasable", but Vince will never drop the title to him.
MojoPogo
I'd love to see it myself. In terms of talent, he deserves it, but lets be realistic here, Vince isnt going to risk it. Though if Masters wins it before Rey, there IS no god.

I can see him winning a one-off match as a suprise (except he actually seems to be the invincible 8 year old who can beat anyone bar Michaels!), but I can't believe it could happen consistently enough to remain champ for longer than one defence. I can believe Doncaster can beat Villa in a one-off match as a surprise, but I can't believe Doncaster would consistently beat premier league teams. (I know it is scrpited blah, blah, but the example still stands) The MMA point is irrelevant (I think, as I don't know how you win in that), we are talking about wrestling and wrestling fans. Indeed if you asked a normal person on the street who they thought would win the most fights/wrestling matches out of all the people shown, none would pick Rey. In MMA you win via knockout or tapout by and large. Often it goes to the referees decision though. So in a REAL fight the smaller and more talented guy often beats the bigger, stronger one. Hoffmeister
Hw will never and should never be WWE champion. He is too small! Wrestling is laughed at because of old folks who never know when to retire coming back to job out younger guys. Having a midget the champion is not believable either. Edgemaster006
yeah its going to be a definite no. Although i do see him losing some no.1 contender type tourneys...or even winning KOTR
CoTT
He's doesn't qualify for the World Heavyweight Championship division (he's under 220 pounds) but I guess he could be given a shot at the WWE Title (I remember Guerrero beat him in a title match before) but I guess he wouldn't be credible. He's simply too small. If anything he should still be dominating the cruiserweight division and giving the Cruiserweight Championship some much needed credibility. wisdom27
Rey Mysterio is an excellent wrestler, probably my favourite. It would be superb if he won the championship.

Paul
You can fight ABOVE your weight, just not below. Just like in boxing.
Gooneronastick
Simple answer to the question is no, Rey will not ever win the main title. Main reason is that Vince doesn't care much for the Cruisers and as much as he may like Rey, Vince will not like Rey enough to put the future of the company on his shoulders. Red05
Well i could, i mean i ain't no muscle man but.....whoops, my bad. You mean the WWE Rey don'cha. :P OKay, he could, but i agree with what has been repeatedly posted here, he's too small. He'll contest with them, but it'll always be just out of reach for him. Sad, because it'd be nice to see him have the belt, but i do think it's a little bit out there for Rey Rey.
Slim Jim
He'd have to win it and loose it from and to a smaller person (someone the size of say Matt Hardy). I don't see why he couldn't win the title, although if he does win it, I don't think he should hold it for a long time.
Red05
If he did get a hold of it, i can see him being cheated to lose it though, say to the likes of J.B.L. Slim Jim is right, he'd hold it for maybe 2 weeks at max, because having a guy his size as the lead man woul only de-merit SD more.
