Chris2K
I personally think fireworks should be banned from being used in public aside from November 5th and January 1st (and July 4th in the USA). Right now, on October 29th, I have fireworks being able to be seen from 3 different places, all making huge amounts of noise, and all of which have sent my dog into a panicked frenzy, and my cat is under my bed with fear. What is so unreasonable about having fireworks on specific days, and sparing people who don't enjoy them the agony of listening to them? acacia rose
I completely agree. I love fireworks, but when they are still going on at 12 midnight and you got an early start the next day its not fun! Is it me or do they seem to get louder each year!
Saz
Yup, fireworks should be banned from all public places. OR People can be responsible and not sell them to kids! Saz
Brick
Only in public displays Brick says. Fireworks scare my dog and I'm not too fond of them either, there's no need to have them nextdoor when they could just go to a display and let me get on with my F'in business without that racket disturbing the peace. ahsatan
I think they should be banned from public sale. I don't mind if I know that there's a display going on, but I don't want them going off in my next door neighbours garden at any time without warning. I am told by public anouncement time and time again to keep my pets in on fireworks night. Does this now include the entire months of October, November and any other random time someone choses to set off fireworks?
Nemesis Enforcer
Fireworks are good, but I don't wanna see them all the time, yeah if its a special day, say 5th November or New year fine, but whats the point of setting them off if there is nothing to celebrate... I agree with Acaicia Rose (who has the best av i've seen lol) about them going off at midnight thats not fun
JobberJoe
This year we've not had many fireworks... we usually get the bangs and colours from mid-October to mid-November but I dunno this year. I think places are being forced to smarten up on their selling dates... like only sell the week of November 5th. I used to love fireworks as a kid but you grow up and grow out of them... For the kids who thinks it's smart to use them as weapons I hope you burn your faces off ! ! Peace-out :P
A.C.
Hey, if I want to light a firework in a pub or restaurent then it's... Oh. I reckon restricting them to certain days is the way forward, along with ensuring underaged folks can't get them. Organised displays are the best, though. Weeski
Personally i think fireworks are good fun, on bonfire night and New years eve and such like. Its only the idiots chucking them around and tieing to cats tails that annoys me.
Jimmy Redman
I feel torn here. Fireworks have never really bothered me. Its more the bungers that people set off at 2a.m. which are annoying. On New Years last year, we set off some fireworks in our backyard (clever, I know). They werent big by any standards. But its a wonder none of our neighbours complained. Slim Jim
They should only be allowed on bonfire night and new years eve ( in the case of bonfire night, the nearest weekend ). I don't see why people were setting them off tonight when it's next week.
Twig
Um, I'm personally not offended by fireworks, and niether is my dog (go pitbulls). But even if fireworks were made illegal or restricted, they would never be all that illegal. So people would still find ways around the laws, and the cops (at least the one's here in Chicago) wouldn't give two s***s or a **** about fireworks and let it go on as normal. MartynJ
Im not too bothered about them, if your responsible with them and do it safely then there okey. Some kids always gets hurt or hurt other people by messing with them, but theres not much that can be done, because its just like when i was younger and was kid i used to stand outside shops and get people to buy me them and beer etc... and now thinking back i know that its all bad. Moobs
There fine, but only on appropriate days. Theres nothing more annoying then people who have fireworks like a month before Bonfire Night.
Kanenite
Every year it's exactly the same. You get the idiots around my area setting them off 2 weeks before they are supposed to be. Then you get the huge bonfire right outside my backdoor which is a nightmare until 2 weeks after when the fire brigade come round to set it out. Citizen Kane
I voted only done in public displays. I wouldnt mind people doing it in private but you always get those idiots who do it when they feel like. I also think it can look much better when done properly. Danny Styles
they should be allowed on Guy Fawks night and that's about it in England... unless England win the World Cup (which won't happen thanks to Sven)
Gemsi
I voted only on specified days, although that should be once a year on bonfire night IMO. Fireworks really really scare me, I hate loud bangs, and if im not expecting a really loud bang, it can send me into panic attack. It used to be, that i knew to stay in on bonfire night. Now Ive got to be careful every night from september onwards. It's stupid. I don't mind people having there fun, once or twice a year, but every night is ridiculous! Devilish Angel
I'll be the first to admit, I hate fireworks probably due to my sensitive hearing, but since I'm not a killjoy I voted for "They should be restricted to certain days" as opposed to "They should be banned completely". Anime Otaku
I think that their sale to the public should be restricted to certain days or professionals when they need them..
Nicole
I looooooooooooooooove Fireworks! Im not bothered by random bangs and stuff, as long as people use them responsibly, theres no need to restrict them.
Paul
Thats the problem...........they dont use them responsibly.
Nicole
If someone wants to use fireworks safely in the backgarden for a birthday, I'd say that it is responsible. I have no problem with fireworks whatsoever, and if people bring up the pet issue, I dont care. Most animals suck.
Paul
I agree Nicole, 100% and totally (except for the pets bit). However people are just aiming rockets at things, putting firecrakers inside animals and throwing fireworks at people. Thats not responsible.
Nicole
No thats not responsible, but why take away the fun of private firework shows? Its not fair, and people should be less whiny about the noise. People make more noise doing other things, and they are alot more unsociable.
