Harrrr... Neither am I - it's always trail and error to find out what I can do. And a lot of googling. It really is very simple if you break it down.

 

1) I want to make a gif.

 

2) How do I do that?

 

3) Well I know gifs are made op frame-by-frame.

 

4) That means I need a way of seperating video into seperate frames.

 

5) And so on...

 

Each thought is followed with an answer and you eventually get to your goal. I am going to shamelessly re-post the .gif I made last week while off work now...

...and the explanation I gave Trash on how I made it:

 

"Used my poxy digi-camera to video me putting my finger in my nose.

 

THEN! I put it into photoshop, cut out my hand and finger and put them on a seperate layer,moving it up slightly and chopping a bit off the finger each frame. Stick the lot in the .gif animator program and voila!"

 

If anyone would like help or tips or are ust a bit stuck with their creations feel free to ask me. I might not know the answer but I don't mind trying to find out because that means I get to learn how to do it too!

I'm so proud of my Avatar, I made this one all by myself, I just had to share it.

 

I drew it all myself, using twisted brush trial software. I havn't got round to making moving avatars, although i've now got a 60 day trial of paintshop pro, which im looking forward to experimenting with.
