Chris2K 176
Most of the time pain actually makes me laugh for some reason. If I stub my toe or something I laugh instead of actually feeling pain as a bad thing. But with this throat all I want to do is scream. Guest johnny knoxvill
Fracturing my shoulder tearing the ligaments and chiping the bone was the worst pain I have incountered. I almost passed out and I felt very sick the rest of the day. And that night I laid down in bed and tried to get up but could not because the pain was unbearable I was a little 12 year old crying because the pain was absolutely sadistic. I had to sleep on the couch for 2 weeks after. At the moment I have a trpped nerve in my lower back which means I can run or play football whcich sucks
Guest The Doctor
I currently have swollen glands around my throat which means every time I swallow or breathe it hurts like hell. Plus I can't speak in the slightest. I had these symptoms a few years back and did my usual trick of not going to the doctor. My throat ended up so swollen I could not swallow at all and when I eventually did go to the doctors after about three days of not being able to swallow (anything!) or sleep, he could not believe I had actually walked into the surgery! I had a peri-tonsular absess - a honking infected absess in my throat. I was sent to hospital the same day and had to have the pus from the absess removed by having a huge hypodermic needle shoved down my throat to drain the absess. There was lots of pus. Some was even green. Nasty, gross and ruddy painful business!
Guest Nicole
I stubbed my toe on the corner of my metal wardrobe the other night. Twas so painful, have a HUGE blood blister on it, and I think it's broken :( Ripping cartilage in my knee was a bit painful to say the least. Guest Goldy
I'd say dental pain is the worst. Toothache is the only pain that can make me cry. :( I'd prefer to be in labour than to have toothache. When I had that abcess, I was in pain for days and I can't think of anything else worse, specially as any painkillers I took just wouldn't touch the pain, I was like a waking junkie!! I had to be hospitalised for my absess (read back a few posts for the gruesome details, folks) because I'd gotten so dehydrated because I couldn't swallow. I was on a saline drip and in a hideous amount of pain still. Then came the little pink happy pills. Don't know what they were, but damn that was good stuff. DC 536
I had four abccesses taken out from my top gum in one go, which removed the nerve endings in the top of my mouth. The result of this is I do get toothache in the sense of what causes it, but I can't feel it. The most painful thing for me was ripping my quad, not unlike HHH, but not as bad. That hurt like a bitch. I can also remember getting cramp for the very first time, and not knowing what it was, sitting, with my leg bent screaming for about an hour in the middle of a park. I didn't know that unbending my leg would take it away. speaking of cramp, has anyone woken up, having suffered cramp in their sleep, and found that any movement to straighten it is intense pain? It takes an effort to stand and will yourself to straighten you leg. But once done it feels great.
