For all those who think that Bret can't let go...

--WWE is planning a DVD on the 1997 Survivor Series tentatively titled, "Screwed: The Bret Hart Story." And the night after it comes out, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair and HHH will be driving home after a show in Ontario crying about how these stupid Canadian fans can't let it go. (thanks to Keith Lipinski)

Thoughts?

it's truly stupid how the canadian fans can't let some thing that happened back in 97.yes it was a screwjob, but as much as i like bret hart vince did what he thought was right.bret could of ended up on wcw nitro with the title and dump it in a trash can like madusa or even do some thing else with it.was it right of vince to do what he did,of course,he's the boss.should he of told bret and tried to work it out.ya he should.

The Best there ever will be.

If anyone deserves to come back for one match, even though he hates Vince, it's The Hitman. Bret vs. Vince vs. Michaels. Bret gets the Hall of Fame nomination for 2006 and comes out for Wrestlemania 22. Makes a match on the spot and beats them both.

Its actually going to be a documentary about the whole thing, and Bret is involved in its making I have heard.

Oh wow, they are making a DVD documentary about the Montreal WORK! If this was a shoot, do you people really think Bret would be involved in the DVD? (And thinking about it, if it was a shoot, do you really think Vince would have allowed WWF footage, mainly his 'Bret screwed Bret' speech, to be used on the non-WWF Wrestling With Shadows programme? Nope and Nope.

I digress.

I heard that Bret was actually working on getting his hands on a lot of footage from his library, and Vince (again) screwed him over. I'll be interested, if Bret does appear on it, to see how Shawn and Bret shoot on each other, since they probably still hate each other, despite Shawn now devoted to the Godster. That in itself will be interesting to see how much of a liar Shawn still is.

I imagine the DVD will uncover a lot though. Of being a work, doubtful, but if it does happen, cool. Nice pointless exercise they never capitalised on.

And Buff, the Meltz was indeed taking the piss out of HHH, Flair and Michaels, not the canadian fans.

I cant help but laugh at all this.Back in 1992 Ric Flair comes from WCW to the WWF with the WCW title intact and Vince didnt have a problem with that. But the moment he"thought" or better yet"assumed" Bret was going to do the same thing and take the WWF title over to WCW he chose to screw him in his hometown rather than have Bret come down with an injury and simply strip him of the title?

Why should Canada forgive Vince for what he did? What happened to Owen definately wont simply go away in the minds of Canadians and anybody else around the World. So why should the screw job in Canada be forgotten? It shouldnt. But to make a DVD about it just to make a profit shows just how sick and twisted Vince truly is about it all.

The thing withthat is, if I'm not mistaken, was that Flair, as champ, had to put a deposit on the belt. He had not been refunded the money, so still had legal 'ownership' of the belt. Yes Vince did show the belt on tv, only covering it up when Flair got his money and the belt was returned, using an old Tag belt after that, (The reason the belt was covered in the first place).

But on topic, I am coming round more and more to Beltey's way of thinking. And if it's revealed to be a work, then I, hopefully along with everyone else who remembers it and bought it, will raise a glass and toast the genius of Vincent Kennedy McMahon.

Again, what evidence or proof does this DVD idea provide? It neither strengthens one side of the work/shoot arguement or weakens the other. The evidence available and the proof we have still only points to a shoot. Opinion and rumour are the only things going for the work side of the arguement.

Was is a work? Was it a shoot? WHO CARES. The only real fact is that it's p*ssing me off that we're still talking about it 8 years later. Are we really ever gonna get anywhere with this until either Vince comes out and says 'sorry', or posibly 'gottcha'. Or Bret comes out and says 'I love you Vince'. Seroiusly guys. (And by guys I mean you, Vince, Bret, Shawn and about a million Canadians). Let it go. I tell you what though, if it was a work, Vince is an even bigger genius than anyone thought, I mean what an angle. And I wish Bret would grow up. I mean seriously, whining like a little b*tch about losing a WRESTLING MATCH. And that was after he'd already decided to jump ship for a bigger paycheck. What a f**king hypocrite. Lots of guys job in their hometown. Granted many know about it. But get over it. I mean how has it affected him. Really. It's just wrestling for crying out loud. And it's obvious it did nothing for his popularity based on Canadians reactions everytime Shawn Michaeals steps into Toronto. Good God. A little perspective would be great guys. Seriously.

OK. Rant over.

Just because they are bringing out a DVD on it doesn't prove anything Belty. The DVD is out because it was the biggest story in wrestling ever and people want to know about it. The footage in Shadows was allowed because the peple that made it signed a contract with WWF to allow footage from matches and the Documentary had been filming for a year before Montreal.

So you're saying they want people to know about it...who doesnt already know about it?! Its been flogged to death. The footage in WWS that their guys filmed, they could obviously use, but they also used WWF owned footage of Vince's 'Bret screwed Bret' interview on RAW afterwards. Thats AFTER the WWS documentary wrapped up filming. Believe me, they used it with permission from Vince, and Vince wouldnt give permission to use it unless it was a work...not a chance.

It was a work, no single doubt about it, and we are getting closer and closer to having it proven I'm sure. Time will tell.

There ain't no proof, thus there are millions of doubts about it. Also who said Wrestling With Shadows wrapped up filming then? If they signed a contract saying we can use footage, then they can use footage. If would have to be so incredibly far fetched to say right we can use footage, but not until this screw job (which the camera team, and whole promotion would have to know about), and then we can the day after that, because we are gonna try and fool everyone. They started filming in 1996, I doubt there was anything saying they can't keep filming if it's in relation to what they are doing, plus Vince signed the contract.

I don't believe one way or another if it's a work or a shoot, but you can't say there is no doubt when there is loads, and the stuff you mentioned, doesn't prove anything.
