What a tuffy. My top contenders were Hogan, Ric Flair (lost it 16 times as well as won it i suppose), michaels, austin, rock, taker, hhh.

After a long and hard choice I voted "Stone Cold" Steve Austin because his matches with The Rock etc. (1999 etc.) I loved them matches, like the Backlash 1999 match, it was great. I also think Chris Jericho and Ric Flair could have made it, Ric Flair simply because he's a 16-time Worlds Heavyweight Champion. And The Rock, but my vote was "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

I'd love to vote HHH, I've found him the most entertaining World Champion ever, but as has been said, The Hulkster really made some money with that belt, so Hogan gets my vot...............ahhhhhh..........who cares......HHH for me!

I have noticed quite a few people have voted for Ric Flair.

Now Flair was an awesome NWA/WCW world champion but this thread is about the best WWF/E world champion and I dont think Flair's 2 short title reigns in 1992 could class him as the best?

Can't believe Cena was voted "Greatest US champion of all time". Anyway Bret gets my vote as Best WWF/WWE etc world champ, Austin a close second then benoit.

My sentiments exactly. Im not saying this because i hate Cena and want him to get his ego deflated but he is the worst U.S champ since its return never mind its full history.

If you had bothered to read my posting on the Greatest U.S. Champions Ever, I wanted to vote for Tully Blanchard but he wasn't included. I voted for Cena because I actually like him ( I preferred him heel, but he's still ok now ). And for future reference, I've been watching wrestling for 20 years+ so please don't patronise me by spouting rubbish like the above statement. Thanks. </rant off>
