Got to go with Matt Hardy a cruiser with a gimmick, promo skills and good ring ability that the wwe pushed and the fans cared about...and people say they do nothing with the crusierweight division :P

TAKA Michinoku & The Great Sasuke are my favourite WWF/E Lightheavyweight champions, but the list of WCW Cruiserweight Champions is a really impressive whos who list of cruiserweights: Jushin Lyger, Brian Pillman, Ultimo Dragon, Shinjiro Ohtani, Dean Malenko, Rey Misterio Jr, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Alex Wright, The Juice, Billy Kidman, Psicosis, Chavo Guerrera Jr, Elix Skipper, Lance Storm, Sugar Shane Helms.

Rey Mysterio is truly the greatest cruiserweight in the WWE right now.

 

As far as who I feel is truly some of the best cruiserweights in the world:

Other than Rey and Paul London nobody else on the WWE roster can give most of these guys a run for their money.

Im torn between Matt Hardy Version 1 and Taka M. Taka M was champ at a time when WWE were just venturing into really pushing the divison and to me he was a great chocie to lead the way. The division before him was pretty dull and I think the belt even dissaperead from WWF programming for a long long time. Matt Hardy though took the belt and really made it his own for me.

 

But my vote goes to Taka....

Taka was the first wwf light heaviweight champion, but the Great sasuke was never the champion, he wrestled taka and beat him at Canadian Stampede in 1997 but there was no such thing as a light heaviweight title in the wwf at that time.

 

As for me, I would say taka because that was when cruiserweight action was good because it had wrestling as well as aerial ability but now it just misses that excitement. But now when i think about it, i also like Dean Malenko as the champion and if I am correct, he was the light heaviweight champion.
