Pyro

Has anyone else noticed all the pyro that has been dropped lately? Remember Shelton Benjamin had a big explosion as did Edge, and they have now both dropped it, and dont have any pyro anymore. Also a few months back the Dudley Boyz dropped there missile pyro, and lately Kurt Angle has stopped doing his signature point to the sky while the pyro hits.

Anyone know why they stopped them from using it? :?

I've got two guesses-

1. It's expensive. In the later days of WCW, they pretty much eradicated pyrotechnics from all of their wrestlers' entrances. If you're spending £100 on the street buying a half decent fireworks set, the costs will add up if you've got even more spectacular pyro being used by WWE, on a much larger scale. Doing this week in, week out is eventually going to come to quite a substantial sum.

2. Great White's concert a few years ago, where the indoor arena went up in flames due to a falty pryo display, probably made all of the arenas that WWE frequent take a good look at their safety procedures. Some arenas might ban it completely, others may just want to limit it, incase it sets off a blaze on a large scale.

Pyro is one of these things that's going to impress the first time fans (Every time I read spoilers from a taping written by a fan attending a WWE show for the first time, there's always a mention of something like "Kane's pyro was so loud and hot!"), but really doesn't do much for the viewers watching at home. It does have it's place in wrestling, as guys like Goldberg or Kane would lose a lot of the spectacular side of their entrance, but just like blading, if you use it too much, no one will care after a while.
