This a bit nostalgic really looking back at some old wrestlers who I thought were pretty damned great when I saw them and now looking back, they were juts plain stupid but still great.

First off the king, Waylon Mercy.

Lives are gonna be, in waylon Mercys hands. HAHAHA, ya know what i mean.

Waylon Mercy was never and never will be greatly and widely known, his music probably more famous but he was bloody fantastic. He had a weird gimmick for the time but I thought it was great. Any one who even remotely remembers chip in.

Abe Knuckleball Schwartz

Take me out to the ball game, take me out to the balllllll.

Haha I cant even remember him now, but I remember he was damned good. lol :oops

Papi Chulo

Not many remember him under this name. He was originally Aguila before he changed to Papi Chulo and that was when he was very entertaining if under utilised. Then he came out and beat Gillberg with Lita to win the Light-Heavyweight Title and he was Essa Rios, and things never looked up again. Last I saw him was on TNA as Mr Aguila in the superb Americas X Cup events.

Any you remember or like me try to remember but forget

Yeah, that he was. He came about because the MLB was on strike, so McMahon thought that a baseball player would make a good character in the WWF. They used the excuse that if baseball was on strike Abe would need something to do, so he became a wrestler. His most "memorable" moment was going on strike in the middle of the ring on Superstars and holding the show to ransom. Ya gotta love Steve Lombardi, the only man who could pull of being Italian-American one day, then jewish the next.

Whatta guy.

Ive just watched the funnoest things Ive ever seen.

A young Aguila aka Essa Rios aka Mr Aguila aka Papi Chulo and TAKA vs Brian Christopher aka Grandmaster Sexay and some guy called Pirata Morgan.

Most of the match was just Jerry lawler harping on about Brian not being his son yet cheering everything he did. brian Lawler was his hilarious self and it was just pure hilarity.

That was a great time to watch wrestling. Anyone remember when Lawler was campaigning to keep Al Snow out of the company and he & Head had a match with Too Much, ( later to be Too Cool), and they pinned Head after putting a bottle of Head & Shoulders shampoo on Head? That was some funny sh*t I tell thee. :)

Long live The King and his chants for "PUPPIES"

That was just silly gimmick city. Everytime he out his hands in the air his chest would go chalk white and everybody knew it was him. No-one else was built that way and no one else had chest hair like that.

I wonder if Hardcore Holly has nightmares about being called Thurman Plugg for a while. Or Al Snow as Avatar.
