Once again, World Wrestling Entertainment and Atlantic City came together for the production of the greatest sports-entertainment event of all time -- WrestleMania. For the second year in a row, 20,000 fans jam-packed the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, as WWE put on a record-breaking 14 matches.

WrestleMania V will always be remembered for the rebirth of Hulkamania. However, when it was all said and done, the event proved to be significant for numerous other reasons as well. In addition to it being the final time the late Andre the Giant and Big John Studd would meet in a WrestleMania ring, it also marked the beginning of two brilliant WrestleMania careers when Big Boss Man and Shawn Michaels faced each other in their WrestleMania debuts.

Finalists so far:

Hulk Hogan/Mr. T vs. Roddy Piper/Paul Orndorff (WM1)

The British Bulldogs vs. Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake (WM2)

Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage (WM3)

Randy Savage vs. Ted DiBiase (WM4)

Looking at the sheer amount of matches there... does anybody else wish they still did that for the Grandslam PPVs? I hate this whole 6 matches per card bullshit these days!

I also voted for Rude v Warrior, not because I thought it was so much better or anything just personal preference!

Hulk vs Savage, NO DOUBT! One of Hogans best matches, thanks for Savage being a great opponent and Hulk being on the top of his game. He looked so enthusiastic. Add to it all the back story and build up, it was awesome.

This PPV is the 10th highest PPV buyrate in PPV history, still to this day! THATS impressive, seeing as PPV was still somewhat in its infancy, and there were nowhere near as many homes who had PPV available to them in 1989 as they do today. Thats a testament to Hulk Hogans drawing ability, Randy Savages and Liz's involvement and GREAT story telling.

Hulk vs Savage is the ONLY choice.

I have gone for Savage v Hogan, simply cos its actually one of the US style Hogans better matches, had great story and buildup and was the collision of the then two biggest stars in the sport...

I loved the Rude v Warrior match too but I hate the Warrior, green as a bogey that guy and was always dangerous. Good job Rude was tough.

2 of these matches lasted 20 seconds and at least 4 lasted under 5 minutes.

I do, I always liked the fact that WM usually had 14 matches, and all of them seemed to serve a purpose...unlike today, where they have 7 matches and 3 dont mean sh*t.

Yeh I know but I still prefer that.... the more the better. Like the PPV's tend to not go near the 3 hour mark very often these days. 6 matches on a PPV card just isn't good enough in my opinion. Like for Taboo Tuesday I would really appreciate it if they just added a couple of pointless (edit: ok not pointless but undercard, you know what I mean) matches on top. I really liked the old school booking mentality of the WWF.. the main event usually being the longest and genuinely most important match.

I do appreciate though that they make Wrestlemanias longer these days
