Great American Bash in the UK

Does anybody know if we are actually gonna be recieving this PPV here in the UK?

I have noticed there have been no adverts for it on SmackDown!, they just keep promoting Bad Blood.

I have a feeling we are gonna be left out in the cold when it comes to this one, boys and girls, or at the very least it *MAY* show up on Sentanta Sports for £15.

Anybody have any word on this?

Smackdown! just about holds my attention, and that's free. There's no way I'll be ordering what, in essence, is a 3-hour edition of Smackdown! for £15 of my own money.

I've been boycotting the box-office/setanta events since Sky Sports passed them on. I just don't feel, as a resident of the UK, we should have to be paying for them.

The way your talking you'd actually think that it was going to be worth watching! :D

I'm not saying it will be worth watching, but there is not one single WWF/WWE PPV that I do not own (thats including the more rare events like the 1988 Rumble, Over The Edge 99 etc) and I dont want gaps there.

I will have to get a copy from one of my mates in the US I guess. Pain in the ass.

LOL In that case, you will not be seeing any more WWE PPV's come November when they ALL go on Box Office & Sentanta Sports with a £15 price tag...

Not a chance. If in doubt I can always get the events one way or another... *cough* PW Torrents *cough*

I'm thinking I'll probably use that wasted time to focus on RoH, NJPW, and TNA - broaden my horizons a little more.

I think the only PPV i'd be prepared to pay for is Wrestlemania and possibly summerslam.

If Sky is going to charge for PPVs then they might find that the interest will drop as most people's parents will not pay the extra for something they don''t think is worth the money, compared to say a premiership plus match which is £5 each.

We'll just have to see,

I will buy any and all WWE PPV's even when they all go on Box Office. I'm not happy about it, but I am also a WWF/WWE mark and will support them through the good times and the bad, as I have done for the past 21 years. I buy all their PPV's and will continue to do so, I just wish us, as UK fans, would get a little more credit for what we do for WWE in their times of need and we are long overdue for a big time USA PPV like another SummerSlam or Royal Rumble to be held on these shores.

Geez, I think UK fans are really too spoilt sometimes. They beg for WWE PPVs and as soon as we get them, they still moan "Oh I refuse to pay - I want it for free cas I want everything for free". I'd just love for Sky to take away all the PPVs just to piss those fans off.

As for GAB, I believe it will not be shown, saving us the eternal embarassment of having to acknowledge it's existance.

So let me get this straight... I'm not a real fan?

I don't have access to Sky, therefore I don't watch any of the shows. As a result, I get up at 7am on Tuesday and Wednesday to see what happened on Raw and SmackDown.. (and to go to school). I can't afford to buy every show on DVD, as I get ten quid a month and don't have the money to spend on luxuries like that.

But apparently, this doesn't make me a real fan. So tell me Jack, what do I have to do? Do I have to give up my time to make quizzes for people to play every month? Do I have to spend my free time playing games like EWR and doing columns for websites based on that? Do I have to study every show that the WWE churn out so I know EXACTLY what happened to who?

In case you hadn't guessed, I'm VERY insulted that you think people like me aren't real fans. Something that Cripp said when I ran the Opinions on TWO Members thing was that he was "amazed I was still such a fan despite not seeing as I don't get the chance to watch any shows". THAT made me proud, as I actually realised for the first time that me being a fan takes a helluva lot more effort than it does for most people.

EDIT: Wow, this brings up 2,700 posts. But seeing as it's on an internet message board, it probably means I'm not a real fan.

Well given that for wrestling I pay for Sky TV and the sports channels I damn well expect to not have to pay more! As it is £30 a month is a lot for me.

I don't watch it because its boring, I'm always out when Raw is on so I don't get a chance to watch that. If the wwe wants me to watch it then it should become more entertaining than Have I got news for you very quickly.

I don't care if I'm a 'crap fan', its their problem, not mine.

The PPV thing is a tricky situation really, it's easy saying America pays for them and so should we. That is true, I think we should be paying for them and we will be from next year but you have to take in the factor that America's cable system is alot cheaper than it is over here. My Sky World package at the moment costs around £40 and a PPV every month will bump that up to £55 a month, now I don't know what American's pay for their basic cable but it's no where near £40 a month we have to pay over here, but I believe they have to pay around £20ish for the PPV's. So in the long run we will be paying more than Americans that is unless Sky do a Prem Plus type package which I hope they will.

Back onto topic though, I don't think this is going to be shown over here and well I'm not all that interested either :P I'll probably download it and then buy the DVD when it comes out.

Yes and if your so bothered about missing a gap in your collection then why can't you get it from a tape trader or wait for it to go on genral release. i sure as hell know i can wait even if the main event is Eddie G v JBL . I know it's exciting but i'm just going to have to wait.

My sister buys them all when they are on pay er view only cos my dad won't let me add it to the bill. I give her a tape and a little bit toward the event and she tapes me a copy of the encore showing...

As for not buying events, I never buy a WWE DVD unless I miss a Summerslam, Mania, Series or Rumble and face it, I don't let that happen at all. As for not being a proper fan for not having sky, well Chris goes out of his way to know whats going on, I'd say that'd make him a real fan, hell I don't watch every Raw or Smackdown and I have Sky so does that not make me a real fan?

If Sky were to offer an annual PPV ticket......

WWE is starting to knockout 14 PPV's a year, so if you think about it if each PPV is offered for a fiver as a result of a 'bulk buy ticket' that means that the cost would still total 70 QUID !!!, then imagine that the top boys in Sky were feeling extra generous and slashed an extra 20 quid off that to make it 50.

I still feel ripped off as the only things i watch all the time is WWE programming and the FA Premiership, that would mean im paying money for Sky so i have the opportunity to shell out an extra 120 quid a year just to watch wot i got Sky for in the first place !!!!!

Sheesh, but never mind lads n lasses, the world is changing, i'll just hav to grin n bear it. :D

At the current prices then you have what 4 on Setana at £15 a pop and then 12 on Sky again at £15 that comes to... £240! Plus Mania will probably be more expensive like it in the states...

God I don't know how the American fans don't march on Stamford and kick down the door and take back the money... How much in the US, $50 or something?
