Do you think it would be a good idea for Vince to bring back WCW rather than ECW. If he brings it back he should have Eric Bischoff have control over it and let Bischoff sign the wrestlers he wants for the company. I would like WCW to come back rather than ECW (wasnt a fan of it) to push the WWE and Vince McMahon to make the WWE better. And on the Monday Night War DVD everyone even said RAW wouldnt be the same if it wasnt for Nitro, so why not bring it back and give McMahon another challange. So do you think they should bring back the WCW???

I grew up on Mid-Atlantic/NWA, which became WCW. I would love to see WCW return and go back to a much older style, (late 70's early 80's). At that time the faces did not act like heels and storylines and fueds lasted more than 1 month. Characters did not completely change their gimmick on a whim. It was BETTER.

It may have been better, but how better will it be when Vince McMahon owns the company. He can do what he likes because he has bought WCW. If he was to let it go again, he might aswell give out money to the public because he is giving it to his rivals instead. Also, WCW is competition for the WWE and will pull down ratings possibly. Right now, the WWE can't take that chance.

No. If Vince McMahon owns the company, I don't want it brought back. Maybe if Vince sold the rights to WCW to some other person, i would say yes, but if WCW is brought back by him it will be nothing but ruined. Trust me on that. WWE will drive the name WCW into the ground to where no one will want to remember WCW at all.

So to answer the question...no. Don't bring back WCW.

Look boys, It's like this!

Wrestling fans need compitition.

Up and coming wrestlers need a place to showcase their abilities!

Now I was never a huge WCW fan, But I was a huge fan of pre-WCW mid-south NWA and more often than not watched it over WW(F)E.

If Vince sold WCW to a promoter who could revive that kind of orginization than I would deffinatley be up for it.

I also agree that WWE did better when they had real competition! They took more chances and had way more over the top angels than they do now! Also(not to get carried away:oops, to late!) they had to fight to keep ahold of their roster insted of juggling around the multitude of superstars they have now. Unfortunatley alot of the boys dont get the time they deserve!

I think we as wrestling fans would benifit from a total split and have WWE stand alone against the likes of WCW and ECW(WE NEED EXTREME!!!)and even the fledgling TNA!

The Maxx's Final Thought-We as wrestling fans need variety! I love the WWE as much as anyone else put that dosen't mean I wouldn't like to watch something different evere once in awhile!

Just because I'm on a diet dosn't mean I shouldn't be able to look at the menu. Right!

It's actually like this,

Vince will buy out anyone who is in anyway near competition to WWE and will keep on doing it.

I totally agree with you that WWE needs competition to keep it on its toes, but WWE wants to make sure it has all the money and all the attention in wrestling.

Vince would never sell it off in fear it would become more popular, he would not invest the money in a new WCW brand either as he would have to hire more staff for its general running, split off current rosters and try to employ some people that left becuase they didn't want to work for him.

I think that having WCW is a great idea on paper, but in the end it would become another raw or smackdown.

Regards,

Saracen

I am all for the WWE having competition, god knows they need it, but bringing back WCW will not be the answer. A company completely independant of the WWE with decent funding and a tv deal would be the answer.

IMO they should not bring back WCW at all, the company has a great legacy which will no doubt be ruined by Vince & co if they brought it back. Also there would be the fact that the WWE squashed "WCW" and "ECW" in the Invasion, and many WWE fans will remember that and not take the company seriously if it were to return.

Forget about the WCW and ECW reformations, the WWE holds all the gimmicks and trademarks so it will be a watered down WWE influenced copy... Instead of day dreaming about it get out there and support the RoH, NWA-TNA and others so that maybe the WWE will have have true compition.

They should never consider bringing back WCW or ECW - with Vince at the helm they would never recapture their old magic.

For true competition, you would need someone in the same ilk as Roman Abramovich to plough money into Ring of Honor or something.

Cheers!

this might just be my longest post i may even do 3 lines!! yes 3!! :lol no seriously its like this:

-WWE needs competition

-WWE needs competition so who better than own it but Vince so he would be getting the other companies profit.

-Vince has too many un-used and popular wrestlers who people want to see, another company would let them be shown week in week out.

-Better storylines (a lot of storylines dont get used to thier full potential because therre is not enough shows in the year)

-Get more fans. A lot of fans have gone of WWE since it bought WCW and ECW so why not draw them back by doin the things W/ECW specialised at e.g. Hardcore and the Cruiser Weight division.

-More indy talent being used better on a good show

-More money for Vince. Just think of all the merchandise and extra PPV sales he would get (not that he needs it)

And also why do people say he would ruin ECW or WCWs legacy? Yes he might do things differently but it obviously works or else why is it not Turner who owns WWE.

Setting up two companies yourself is NOT competition, Jack. It's greed. Competition stems from when someone else thinks their ideas are better than yours.

And also why do people say he would ruin ECW or WCWs legacy? Yes he might do things differently...

You've just answered your own question there Jack. Vince would ruin ECW because he would "Vince-up" the ECW. As rhetorised in the above response; ECW became so big because it was in direct contrast to Vince's vision.

OK, Vince may not "ruin" ECW per-se, he is clearly smart enough to know what it was that made ECW so big, but the fact is that ECW is not how Vince sees the wrestling industry. If it was, then WWE would be more like ECW, would it not?

Cheers!

Seriously, with the backing of a multi-billionaire such as Ted Turner or some other wrestling admirer, would be the answer. That's why WCW thirved back in the 1996-1999 era. It was backed by a person that could, no matter what, AFFORD THE SALARIES OF THE WRESTLERS. Hell, I don't even think TNA is really capable of doing it right at this point. They need another person or company to help fund the promotion, or else they're never going to be going to bigger venues than in Orlando.

Now, from recent reports, Ted Turner is interested in starting up a company again and has already contacted Steve Austin and Goldberg on if they'd be interested in being a part of it. If this happens, watch out WWE. Because Ted will get you the people you want to see on TV. Because money is definitely not an issue to the man....

WCW?? huh?? whats the point??? As other peeps have already pointed out, vince owns the WCW brand name, if WCW was to return it wouldnt be for the purposes of competition, it would purely be as a novelty. Anyway why would vince risk splitting his own audience???

Anyway, why the hell do we need WCW back, because now we have TNA!!!! There's ya competition. Give em a while and they could be a serious contender at the top level, they've got a shed loada talent, and a tv deal.
