  1. I can't believe that I missed this and it's taken me till now to catch up on this news. Mind you, I haven't been on line much and I've been busy with other stuff...still! RIP Trent - when you were good, you were very very good!
  2. Yep, I've had some emails - thank you very much for that!
  3. I'd just like to be able to chat with some ladies who wrestle, share experiences with them etc. Chris, going to pm you now.
  4. Trish Stratus used to be terrible when she started, as she was originally just a valet. She worked very hard to become a very talented wrestler. I still remember her hardcore match with Victoria (now Tara) where she got her nose bloodied. On the whole though, I'm not a big fan of the dolly birds that the WWE sign. I like to see women who look like real women.
  5. I was born in Bridgend and grew up in Pencoed, two fine towns in South Wales. At the age of 18 I moved to Birmingham to go to university, and here I remain. Next year I'm going to university in Nottingham to study for my Masters in History, so another move might be on the cards.
  6. As a female interested in wrestling (Charlie is short for Charlotte), I would be interested to know if there are any other women out there who train or wrestle with any of the local promotions, or even if you are interested in doing it but don't really know where to start. Womens wrestling is getting more widespread now, I think, with Shimmer in the USA and now EVE in the UK. So ladies...are there any of you out there? :)
  7. Don't know mate, I live in Birmingham and I normally drive there. The gym is quite close to Perry Barr train station, so if you're able to get a train that could be a solution.
  8. I didn't get to the show in the end - cash flow issues! Gutted. Fletch, just drop Carl Brooks a line about training. I'm sure he wouldn't mind you coming along especially if you've done this before. I was working this past weekend so I didn't get to training, but I should be along on Sunday.
  9. Did anyone get to the recent EVE show on 8th May? I'd like to get to the next one they do, but Suffolk's a bit of a jaunt from Birmingham.
  10. Fletch, are your kids too young to bring to the show with you? At the last K Star show I went to there were some very young looking kids there, giving the wrestlers a hard time.
  11. Anyone know what time doors open/bell time please? Looking forward to this, don't want to miss anything.
  12. I'm pretty sure that none of us here will ever know what's going through a man's head (or a woman's for that matter) when they carry out such an action. Try not to second guess what happened, or why it happened.

  14. Just logged on this morning and found out about this. Shocked, saddened, just a couple of words that don't even begin to sum it up.

  16. Me and the other half have a mortgage. It was all arranged through the estate agent we used, and I have absolutely no complaints with the mortgage lender (The Coventry building society). 100% mortgage (no deposit), 25 years repayment on a capital and interest basis. We borrowed £98k and repay approx. £630 a month. It's quite steep, but that's for a load of reasons, like when we bought the house, the fact we were first time buyers and had no deposit etc. One word of advice though - get yourself some decent solicitors, people you trust and people you can talk to without getting charged through the nose.
  17. I'm back, and I wish I was still out there. I fell in love with the city! I loved the fact I could go shopping until ten pm on Christmas Day. I loved the sights and smells. Everything is so high rise. The people are so little (I felt like an Amazon next to them!!). Totally amazing. The only cramp on my style was picking up food poisoning on the last day I was there, and having to fly back with real bad gut pains and claustrophobia. Can't wait to go back. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice about stuff to see and do :)
  18. We live in a chavvy neighbourhood and I have to run the gauntlet of inflatable homer simpsons dressed as santa, snowmen stuck to roofs, santas climbing up rope ladders to the roof, flashing tacky lights all over the house, the garden and the bloody car. It amuses me more than anything else, although I don't like it for my house. We're not decorating this year, I can't be bothered. I've got my advent calendar, and that's about it.
  19. Ideal - Wake up late, start drinking after breakfast, attempt to cook a bird in the oven, make some really greasy roast potatoes, open presents, drink some more, phone parents to say thanks for presents, drink, watch a crap film on the telly/any dvds that have been received, pass out by 10pm. This year's actual - wake up in Hong Kong and after that who knows...
  20. Cheers for the tip about the airport G2G! Oh man, only a week to go until I fly out! Can't wait. :)
  21. Thank you all ever so much for the feedback! I'll definitely be getting the star ferry if I can, even if I have to go on it by myself! Looking forward to the dim sum - am expecting to put on a shedload of weight from this! Tram up Victoria Peak - will do! Temple Street Night Market - I'm there! I still need to buy an outfit for the wedding we're going to, so that's where I'll be going. Thank you - I'll let you all know how it goes when I'm back! :)
  22. Heya lovely TWO peeps Me and my mister are heading out to Hong Kong in a couple of weeks, and I was wondering if anyone's got any recommendations for places to go and visit whilst we're out there? Also, if you can recommend any places to eat, preferably one that does a christmas dinner as we're going to be away over the christmas period. Hope you can help :) love Charlie
  23. If I'm out I'll drink lager. I do like cider, beer, wine, whiskey, baileys, and all sorts, but lager for preference.
