  1. from wwe.com: WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has torn his right ACL, MCL and medial meniscus, and will not be able to defend the title against Roman Reigns at Survivor Series. A tournament to determine a new champion will instead take place at the event. As first reported on Twitter by ESPN, Rollins suffered the injury last night at a WWE Live Event in Dublin, Ireland, and is expected to miss six to nine months of action.
  2. the court case is over, and Van der Garde has won! Australian court rules he has a valid deal in place with Sauber, who must employ him as a race driver this weekend. Apparently there is still time for Sauber to appeal, if they're quick (no pun intended). What a clusterf*ck
  3. Manor have confirmed that Spain's Roberto Merhi will be their second driver in Melbourne, no idea if it's permanent though (nor Stevens for that matter actually). There may be another driver change still, as Giedo van der Garde is currently in a Melbourne court fighting Sauber, claiming he has a valid deal with the team to be one of their race drivers this season. Decision expected on Wednesday. If he's successful, one of the current Sauber drivers may have to vacate their seat, and given the sponsor logos on the car, I have a fair idea that would be Ericsson
  4. from skysports.com Going to be lots of peoples' second favourite team, due to their sheer determination and preserving Bianchi's Monaco points legacy. Unfortunatley the money issues are still going to be a major problem this season, Bernie's already had pay Force India, Lotus and Sauber their 2014 prize money payment early to guarantee they'd all make it to Melbourne
  5. Last Grand Prix weekend not to feature Alonso at all was Japan 2002
  6. from bbc.co.uk Probably for the best, concussions are becoming such a big story in sport generally, F1 needs to be seen to be the issue seriously
  7. Looking promising for the former Marussia team, who have exited administraion, changed their name back to Manor, and are have released a statement today saying the expect to make the grid this season, and may even make it to Melbourne in a fortnight with an interim 2015 car. They've announced Will Stevens, who made a one off appearance for Caterham last year, as one of their 2015 race drivers.
  8. 2015 McLaren http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/80644000/jpg/_80644393_mclaren.jpg Quite surprised they've stuck with silver, thought they would have gone for a clean break. Guess a lack of title sponsor must have been a factor too
  9. Williams have released pictures of their 2015 charger: http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/FW37_2-470x454.jpg and Force India revealed their car today http://cdn.images.autosport.com/editorial/1421854852.jpg Williams have gone for a compromise between both of last years' dominant nose designs, and Force India have gone a similar route to Red Bull last season. It seems the cars will be more palatable then the phallic ones last year at least
  10. from bbc.co.uk The Nurburgring has been such a financial and ownership mess for a while, this was fairly inevitable. Just hope Hockenheim can attreact a decent crowd this year, because it was pretty sparse last year
  11. The PPV has been renamed "Tables, Ladders And Chairs...And Stairs" to take into account the stairs match. No, seriously, it has.
  12. might as well start the 2015 thread because the World Motor Sport Council met today to and made a few decisions 2015 Calendar Mar 15 Australia Melbourne Mar 29 Malaysia Sepang Apr 12 China Shanghai Apr 19 Bahrain Sakhir May 10 Spain Barcelona May 24 Monaco Monte Carlo Jun 07 Canada Montreal Jun 21 Austria Red Bull Ring Jul 05 Britain Silverstone Jul 19 Germany Hockenheim Jul 26 Hungary Budapest Aug 23 Belgium Spa Francorchamps Sep 06 Italy Monza Sep 20 Singapore Marina Bay Sep 27 Japan Suzuka Oct 11 Russia Sochi Oct 25 United States Austin Nov 01 Mexico Mexico City Nov 15 Brazil Interlagos Nov 29 Abu Dhabi Yas Marina The reviled double points finale rule has been scrapped (hooray) and the proposal for standing restarts following Safety Car periods has been dropped (hooray) Also, from 2016, there will be a minimum age requirement to be issued a superlicence of 18, and with 2 years junior formulae experiecne, so Max Verstappen has got in just in the nick of time :P
  13. So basically yesterday Chilton was telling everyone he'd voluntarily vacated his seat...presumably he will now issue a statement saying he's voluntarily taken it back :lol
  14. To further confuse the issue, Marrusia have just announced that Chilton will now drive in the Grand Prix this weekend....must have found some more money behind the sofa.....
  15. ...and sillier..? from http://www.skysports.com There's a statement doing the rounds on Twitter to the effect that Max has voluntarily given up his seat for this weekend so that Marussia get a cash injection by bringing in another pay driver.
