  1. My intention is to start a website about fiction writing, that will encourage new writers to showcase their work. The trouble is that I cannot settle on a name for it. Here is the ideas I have had so far. ( All ending .com ) askywriter, waywardlines, booksaredead, thecyberpen, aspellbinder, thevividlines, stirringink, fictionforums, thepenpusher, afictionist. Are any of these any good? Any other ideas from anyone, please?
  2. Climate change is real, but the next question is how much is man-made and how much is natural. I mean, climate has always been in a state of flux, but it is quite difficult to measure how much is influenced by human activity. In a way, I hope the man-made element is significant, because at least then we can do something about it, and not just be at the mercy of Mother Nature.
  3. We are not really influenced by social media influencers. I mean, I once checked out the YouTube channel of PewDiePie, just because I found out he was top of the list with millions of viewers. But when he holds up a product and endorses it, it just seems so false. Then again, my wife was watching a YouTube cookery channel, and now she wants an air fryer, so I guess it does work to some extent.

    Kayaking

I'm glad you enjoyed your kayak experience. It's a great workout for the arms and shoulders. Like a lot of new exploits, it will take its toll and make you ache. Don't forget to get the life-jackets with the new kayaks.
  5. I have just seen the news that the Giantess Geyser in Yellowstone has erupted. Wow that steam goes high! Look at the scale of the people in the picture. Don't you think they are standing a bit too close for comfort, though?
  6. From the US, I like everything from The Beach Boys to The Velvet Underground. From the UK, I must give The Manic Street Preachers a mention. Also the classic groups from the 70's, Pink Floyd, The Stones, Black Sabbath etc.
  7. I know a friend of a friend who bought a used car from a dealer, and the very next day the car caught fire! Needless to say, it is a write-off. I have since read reviews of this dealer, and they are absolutely awful, with people reporting that they cannot get their money back on faulty cars. If it was sold-as-seen, is there anything he can do about it?
  8. The Umbrella Academy sounds like my kind of thing, so thanks for the tip. I like Tom Hopper, he is an English actor who was Sir Percival in Merlin, the TV series. He also plays an astronaut in this series.
  9. Why is it that 99.99% of the world's greatest rock music comes from either the US or the UK, in my humble opinion? I suppose that each country have favorites from their native land, but, for example, how many good French rockers can you mention?
  10. Why do even the top earning female wrestlers earn far less than their male counterparts? Becky Lynch may earn $3.1 million a year, but this is way off the mark for males, and there are only another two above the million mark. What do you say, ladies?
  11. When I used to go to football matches back in the 80's and 90's, it was crazy. At grounds like West Ham and Tottenham, when a goal was scored if you were standing in the terraces the crowd would surge and people would almost be on top of you. At least it is better organized now.
  12. "Violator" is such a good album. I knew that Dave Gahan once had a brush with death when his heart stopped for two minutes, after an overdose. But I didn't realize, until I read some of his history today, that he had such a difficult upbringing. He apparently used to steal cars, joy-ride them, then set light to them!
  13. Wow, that article is really fantastic. What makes it outstanding is the artwork, even if, like myself, you are not familiar with all the wrestlers. Was it the writer that also did the artwork?

    Killing Eve

I tried hard to like the first series as it was written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. I loved her and her writing in "Fleabag." Unfortunately I just couldn't get into it, but it is a credit to her writing that the two series are so different.
  15. It's just crazy. Apparently he said he "made a guy disappear." But I calculate that this must have happened about 47 years ago, so it's going to be hard for the police to investigate now.
