I'm surprised they're continuing on considering that the WWE can't sell tickets to the event. But here we are, with a two night event, and a card that keeps changing. Are you planning to watch? The card looks interesting so far, I'd particularly like to see Lynch vs. Baszler and The Undertaker vs. Styles, but you never know what you're going to get once it's closer to time. I could do without seeing Lashley and Corbin, but Corbin especially always seems to get onto the PPV cards. Why is that? At least Lashley is up against Aleister Black, who I actually like. Hopefully Black will make it worthwhile to watch. What's your take on the chaos that is this years WrestleMania?

  3. It's hard to say. The kid may have thought that if he were nice to MJF, that MJF would be nice to him. Most of the time, the heels will behave that way (at least for kids). But MJF is MJF. Truthfully, I can also say that if it had been me and my son in this situation, my reaction would be based entirely on my son's reaction. If he laughed it off, I'd be able to enjoy it too. But if he took it to heart, I'd have words with MJF about taking it too far on young kids because in that moment, it just became personal. And he'd likely just continue to be MJF to me, which would just rile me up further because I'd KNOW IT and feel he wasn't taking me seriously. Not that I'd try to fight him, I know I'd have 0 shot at that. But ANYWAY, my point is I can totally see from the dad's perspective. Seeing someone be that rude to your kid and hurt their feelings hits you deep, even if you know it's meant to be entertainment. I think Cody's reaction was the best one he could give. They want to support MJF being his character, but they don't want to alienate fans. Spreading the word like he did via that public announcement (Twitter counts!) that MJF will be MJF should hopefully help set the precedent for everyone to maybe not bring the little ones to MJF. But he also offered the apology to the family, and that was classy of him.

  4. @Knox - I amended your post to include the poster/scheduled matches, we might as well make this the official discussion thread :) I know some of the matches have changed but I've left it to how WWE have it announced at the moment. This feels so surreal for me. I cannot believe we're going to get WrestleMania with no crowd, I just can't see it feeling special at all. I would have preferred it if they delayed it. They could have set something up in the storyline to say, all WrestleMania opponents had to stay away from each other until the event was rescheduled. In the meantime, they could have run some alternative feuds for a month or two. Rather than looking forward to the event I'm kinda dreading it. I hope I'm wrong and they put something great together but I can't see it happening.

  5. I really appreciate that, I had no idea some folks liked it enough to read them regularly. I'll try to get back to writing them weekly. It does take a bit of time, probably about half an hour to 40 minutes is what it took me to write that Revolution review. But it just flies by because I'm reliving it in my mind, trying to remember all the stuff I wanted to point out. I also type at over 100 WPM, so that's helpful. I particularly aim to bring up things that maybe aren't what a regular fan would immediately think of, or even a more knowledgeable fan. Not that I'm a genius :p I just have been watching over 20 years at this point and would've gone into pro wrestling myself if I hadn't of had back surgery at 18 years old.

  6. I'm still visiting, albeit sometimes I forget for a few days. I've been posting thoughts about shows less in general (Here, and my other forum). Over at my other forum, I've posted some majorly long ones and ones about the length of Kam's post above and I dunno, I just get tired of it sometimes. Lack of feedback, I guess. I'm putting all this down in writing and it's mostly for myself, but I'm also trying to discuss it with others and see if they agree or disagree with me and how they view it and oftentimes, I just don't get that nearly as much as I'm hoping to and so I don't do it as often. BUT SINCE YOU ASKED AND I'M BORED WITH NOTHING TO DO AT WORK, HERE WE GO. SCU/Dark Order - Didn't see this due to not watching Revolution on Saturday the 29th, I watched it the day after. What I read makes it seem like a quick and easy match, the real story was Colt Cabana and to a lesser extent, Christopher Daniels. I have seen that both on YouTube and on Dynamite this week when they recapped it. I'm glad to see Cabana, I've actually never seen him wrestle outside his brief stint in WWE as Scotty Goldman. Good for him though, he seems like a good dude. Hager/Rhodes - So if you had told us in say, 2013, that we'd get a pay per view match between Jack Swagger and Goldust, I think the collective response would've been "...Why?". However things are different in 2019/2020 AEW and I was looking forward to this one. I didn't expect it to be a 5 star classic, but I did expect it to be better than what it was. Dustin Rhodes has stepped up his game but also has been showing everyone that WWE only ever allowed him to be weird, not great in the ring aside from a couple moments in his WWE run. Unfortunately, Jake didn't really rise to the occasion. He was still essentially the same old Jack Swagger, and while I don't have a problem with him using the same moves (I love the Gutwrench Powerbomb I WISH he'd use that as his primary finisher), he just didn't have much flair for story telling and he was honestly a bit sloppy in his execution. Not as accurate as others his age are, which is odd given that he's MMA fighter. You'd think that'd require him to hone his accuracy on strikes a bit more as the opponent will be actively trying to dodge or counter him. Anyway, it told a fine story, it was functional, it wasn't "bad", just kinda there. Hager winning was the right move, though. Darby/Sammy - OH BOY. This was freakin nuts. I love Darby's recent character work, sort of like a new age Charlie Chaplin in his silent promo's and it's rad. Hopefully they don't force him to remain silent much longer though. Not that he should talk A LOT, but he should be able to talk. Anyway, fantastic match. They went fast and hard throughout the whole thing. Sammy doing that 630 to the outside through a table was one of the craziest things I've ever seen, and he NAILED it. AEW loves their young and somewhat inexperienced wrestlers. Darby is at 5 years, Sammy is at 7. But as we've seen with some guys like Velveteen Dream, youth and being surrounded by the right people helps groom these wrestling prodigy's. Darby needed a big win here, and he got it. Hopefully he goes on and gets another big win after this. Tag Title Match - The first thing that I think of when I think about this match is the very end. Right at the very end, you can hear Justin Roberts announce "30 minutes gone by, 30 minutes remain" and within a minute or 2 of that, the match ends. I remember hearing that announcement going "Wow it's been 30 minutes? I haven't thought about the time or how long this match is going even once". From start to finish, this match delivered and far exceeded my already high expectations for it. You take Adam Page, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks and throw them in a tag match, you're gonna get something good, it'd take a catastrophe for it not to be good. But the story telling they put in before this match to set the stage, and then in the match itself...my god. On 1 hand, you could really feel for Adam Page now that he'd finally expressed his frustrations in that interview last week on Dynamite. "This is the biggest accomplishment of my career so far and you already want to take it away from me!" - That was SO simple, but damn if it doesn't make sense. The Bucks, on the other hand, feel disrespected by Page and that continued in the match. I love the tension they showed, I love how both Omega and Nick Jackson had to pull Page and Matt back at times because both of them got so heated that they were taking things too far. I love how Kenny seemed trapped in the middle between both teams and ended up actually getting caught in the cross-fire, the Bucks didn't give him any mercy after awhile. It was so intense that even Kenny Omega was hesitant to shake hands afterward. This match had absolutely brilliant story telling that allowed you to make up your own mind as to who was in the right and who was in the wrong and even when you had your opinion, you could still understand why the other side was behaving/feeling the way they did and your heart was torn to pieces because you probably loved everyone involved and it was just brilliant. Not just the best match of the night, quite possibly (And dare I say, probably) the best tag match of the year, possibly the best match of any match type. Also, it was great Omega/Page won. I thought they would, it seemed slightly too soon to break them up just yet or end their run. Bucks will be tag champions eventually, no doubt. Women's Title match - Kris Statlander and Nyla Rose had to follow THAT. What do you even do? The crowd is exhausted from going crazy for half an hour straight, and to be honest this match didn't have a ton of build for it. However, Nyla and Kris are both turning heads and they put forth a great match. It started off slow enough that it allowed the crowd time to recover, and later in the match when Kris and Nyla were both getting their stuff in (Like the boop!), the fans had been allowed to rest enough that they came alive yet again. There was some sloppy spots in this match, but nothing that was so badly bungled it took away from it. And to be perfectly honest, I like it when there's a little bit of imperfection. It can make a match feel more like a real fight when things don't look quite so perfect and crisp and clean. Anyway, more young wrestlers getting a chance to shine and they did real well. Kris Statlander's only got slightly less than 3 years wrestling experience and she's already here (You can see her inexperience at times, she's still kind of lost when she's in control and not doing a pre-planned spot, but she's improving). Nyla Rose has more experience, she's around 8 years now, but she's also been in and out doing acting at times. She's more confident and took charge of this match more than Kris did, which was the right call. It was also the right call to have her win and retain, Kris looked great in defeat and that's exactly what you want. MJF/Cody - Similar to the women's match, they played it a bit slow in the start, build anticipation and give the crowd a chance to rest. I thought Cody's entrance started off very well. The live band playing was a cool reveal, Cody coming out with an extended crew was cool. I'm 90% sure Stephen Amell (He played Oliver Queen in Arrow) was among them, and if so they really should've had the camera focus on him just a bit more to take advantage of the "cool celebrity" factor, but they barely showed him and the commentary didn't even mention him, which feels like a missed opportunity. Cody's song probably shouldn't have been played the full length, though. It got a bit awkward about halfway through when it SHOULD'VE ended, but they kept going and the Nightmare Family had to pace around to wait and the crowd kinda stopped reacting to the music, conserving energy for the match itself. Regardless, EXCELLENT match, great emotion, and I also expected MJF to win. There's more to having Cody chase him a bit longer, I think. Regardless, Cody certainly looked like he could've won, but allowed his emotions to cloud his judgment. Excellent. Orange Cassidy/PAC - Jesus. I didn't know what to expect here, but WOW. My 2nd favorite match of the night. I LOVE Orange Cassidy, I LOVE PAC, and I love how the crowd treats Orange Cassidy like he's the biggest star on the planet. It's just wonderful. I legit laughed out loud when Cassidy was rolling away from PAC over and over again, at one point Cassidy looked at his face and laughed and started rolling away again. I actually believed Orange might win for a brief moment there, WELL DONE. Orange Cassidy will eventually casually walk his way into becoming AEW Champion. Moxley/Jericho - I loved this. The match itself was fairly average in terms of the fighting, but there was great psychology and that's more of what you should be looking for from Jericho at this stage in his career. Moxley absolutely was the right person to put the title on. I loved the subplot of Aubrey Edwards refusing to DQ/Count out Jericho and Mox. There's just something about adding that to an important match, that even the ref is willing to bend the rules so that we get a proper decision. Figured that Moxley would lift the eye patch and reveal he actually can see, it got a big pop. That was a cool moment, although it's weird to think about it logically. Why not just lift it up in the beginning? Kinda silly to take all that beating, but it was good in the moment. Love Mox's promo at the end too, especially when they played his music for just a sec and he says "Hey what the f***", I legit laughed out loud again. Little things like that highlight the difference between AEW and WWE. WWE would've given him a script. But the AEW way allowed him to just riff how he wanted and it wasn't always super coherent but it was genuine and that's what mattered most. You could FEEL his energy, his happiness, and the crowd's as well. Great way to end the show.

  7. SCSA, and, dare I say (oh, shit, I guess I do) Chris Benoit. Is he a piece of shit for what he did? No doubt, but that doesn't change what he was capable of between the bells. Also, Michaels, Eddie and Pillman. And The Rock, as a talker, was godly. Also, and it goes against literally every fiber of my being to say this, but Cena was deservedly the man during his Super-Cena run.

  8. If you think that M2 thing pissed you off, imagine ordering a Q6600 literally 2 days before the i5 launch. Yeah, that was me, seeing 50% of the order I hadn't even received yet pissed down the drain. Never, ever again. Bleeding edge can f*** right off. Also, you're 100% right, there isn't very much to learn if you have, no word of a lie, half a brain. That doesn't stop sales people getting it wrong, but it is very much plug and play if you read the compatibility guides. Most importantly, the internet and youtube are your friend. If you get the kit right in the first instance, then a monkey could basically do it... or a small child, since that's who actually does do it for most electronics manufacturers.

  9. The card: The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) vs Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair (TLC tag team match for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship) Bray Wyatt vs The Miz (singles match) Roman Reigns vs King Corbin (TLC match) Rusev vs Bobby Lashley (with Lana) (Tables match) The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) vs The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) (tag team match for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship) Aleister Black vs Buddy Murphy (singles match) The Viking Raiders (Erik and Ivar) vs TBD (tag team match for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship)

  10. WWE big events are largely trash these days. The only thing I really cared about was Black/Murphy and as such, that's the only thing I watched. It was a pretty good match but the energy just wasn't there because the crowd wasn't super hyped for it. They did pop, they got into it, but it took awhile. That's credit to how good Black and Murphy are, but it also is an example of WWE's problem. Everything is so cookie-cutter and bland that even when we do get these occasional good matches, people are mostly just giving unenthusiastic or half hearted responses. If that same match had taken place on an NXT show, the crowd would've been going nuts and it would've felt all the more important. I liked the fact that Bray came out as Bray and the way the match was done adds more to his character. Now we know he may sometimes wrestle as himself and not The Fiend, so that's interesting. But it also shows how little the WWE thinks of Miz's credibility as a wrestler that he essentially beats on Bray for awhile, then Bray destroys him without even activating The Fiend. But what can you expect? I didn't bother watching this because there was just no way in hell I could believe Miz was going to win, he barely ever is booked to wrestle and usually he loses anyway. The story for the feud was great, they did great on that part. But *shrug* The rest of this, didn't care much about. I hear the Revival/New Day was fun, the main event was a train wreck after Kairi got concussed, and the rest was just blah. I'm with you Kam, seeing gang warfare unleashed and requiring 4 guys to keep Roman Reigns down was just...lame. It's also stupid because Roman had made the save for New Day previously, but when he's in trouble in his match, they didn't lift a finger for him. But then later on, I think later in the same show or on Smackdown, they do come out to help him. So what the heck? Seems rather out of character and unusual for them. But that's WWE writing. Not much consistency or logic to it.

  11. I have to admit, there wasn't anything on the card I was looking forward to. I thought I'd watch it in the background and to be honest, nothing really grabbed my attention. New Day/Revival was good, had some nice moments, OK match I enjoyed Black/Murphy but as I've said previously, I didn't like them crossing paths yet, both should be protected. Although, both looked pretty good. A KFC branded match for the Viking Raiders and The OC, nice. :p Hardly paid attention to Corbin/Reigns. Corbin wins? 0_O O_0 I didn't care about the locker room brawl/fallout at the end either. I didn't like Miz/Wyatt. I can see what they're trying to do with Wyatt but I found the match pretty boring. Daniel Bryan looked great without the beard! I'm finding Rusev pretty annoying at the moment, I know he's trying to show off his personality more and have some fun, but I preferred him more when he was with Aiden English. Main event was OK. Overall a pretty meh PPV to end of the year.

  12. This year's Rugby World Cup lived to its billing, but what shocked many people was New Zealand's exist at the semifinals stage. Eddie Jones' England played well and won deservedly, but lost to a resurgent Springboks in the final. All Blacks' hopes of three World Cups in a row were over, but do you see them reemerging in the future even as stronger teams emerge?

  13. NXT started off with FIRE as the OC invaded NXT. I loved it, I loved seeing AJ Styles in NXT and I loved the way they carried themselves, like they were above all of us. Luke Gallows grabbing a random production worker at ringside and throwing him into the steel steps right in front of AJ was great, as AJ looks at it and just has this facial expression of "Sucks to be you, guy". This led to Tomasso Ciampa coming out and I loved the consistency here - Tomasso said that he has no problem with the OC kicking Adam Cole in the face, but if they want to plant their flag in the NXT ring, he's got a problem with that. Another great line he had was that for years, people had been asking him when he was finally going to go to the main roster and now he wanted to take this opportunity to welcome AJ Styles and crew to the main roster (Meaning NXT is the main roster, if you didn't catch that). It was just a nice way to elevate NXT. Matt Riddle and Keith Lee come out to show solidarity for NXT and we've got our main event set. AJ Styles vs Tomasso Ciampa or Matt Riddle? SIGN ME UP. First match of the night is a rematch between Damian Priest and Pete Dunn, and this was excellent. Really good pacing, excellent psychology, crisp execution. I've said before that I'm not sold on Damian Priest because I just can't really figure him out, there hasn't been much to latch on to his character with yet (Similar to the Dark Order in AEW). But he's continuing to slowly win me over, and this match helped. I particularly loved the ending, I thought it was so well executed and smartly designed. Dunn grabs Priest's arm like he's gonna go for the finger snap, Priest backs himself into the corner with the referee caught between the turnbuckle and Priest and Priest tries for a low blow kick again, but Dunn blocks it and delivers one of his own, THEN snaps Priest's fingers. I LOVED the continuation of their last match, the play on that finish, Dunn learning from the past and I felt this was a great way to hand Damian Priest his first loss and not hurt him one bit. I also really appreciated how Damian was selling after the match, he kept putting his hand on his crotch as though he were in pain, kept doing things like saying "DAMN IT" and slamming his fist on the mat in frustration - it really added a sense of realism that he would act pissed off about losing, because...well, it sucks to lose. I also liked that when Killian Dane came out to attack Pete Dunn that Damian Priest tried to do the typical heel thing and join in the beatdown, but inadvertendly pissed off Dane since he pulled Dane off Dunn just so he could beat Dunn down himself. This led to Dane headbutting Priest, and later Priest trying to get revenge but ultimately getting beat up by Dane some more outside the ring - BASICALLY, everything about this chain of events felt like it made sense and I loved that. Dakota Kai had a nice interview backstage, simple and effective. This was followed by a women's match of Taynara vs Santana Garrett. I initially thought this was a match for Santana Garrett to establish herself, but it was actually for Taynara! Hooray! She's got some fire and spunk and I love her move-set. I think she's gonna be someone to keep an eye on. I did find it odd that Shayna didn't choose Jessamyn Duke or Marina Shafir to be on her team for War Games. You'd think she'd pick 2 of her closest allies, but I guess she knows they suck. Anyway, another women's match with Shayna vs Dakota and this was quite good. I think it was early last year that Shayna "broke" Dakota's arm and I've said ever since then that I think Dakota might be on a long story arc like Bayley or Johnny Garganno went on to establish themselves as champion, and that she'll be the one to finally conquer Shayna Baszler. I could be wrong, she might not win the title, but I could still see her finally getting the moral victory much like Roderick Strong got over Bobby Roode after Roode lost the NXT title to Drew McIntyre. Anyway, excellent match, lots of fight from Dakota Kai and it told a great story - This is the 3rd time Shayna's faced Dakota Kai 1 on 1 on NXT TV if I recall correctly and while Shayna has won each time, Dakota's performance has improved each time. Match 1 saw Shayna break Dakota's arm and Dakota entered that match ultra intimidated. Match 2 saw Dakota try to stand up to Shayna after returning from her arm injury and while she did do better, she still wasn't able to push Shayna to the limit. Match 3, it's quite clear that Dakota rocked Shayna pretty hard and damn near beat her. I was surprised to see Mia Yim run down for the save during the post match fight segment, I kind of forgot about her to be honest and it seemed like she was being written down based on her recent performances. But she was on fire here, and Rhea Ripley ends up giving her the 4th slot for War Games in a backstage segment later on in the evening, which resulted in Dakota Kai dejectedly just walking away from everyone. Ouch. More fuel for Dakota's fire, though. Good stuff overall, though I do still think it's a bit odd that Shayna is gonna team with Io and Bianca, given that both of them have made it quite clear recently that they want to beat Shayna for her title. On top of that, 1 more person still needs to be added to team Baszler and I'm not sure who it'll be. I think Dakota Kai is a dark horse possibility, maybe to show Rhea Ripley that she would've been a better pick than Mia Yim, but that's unlikely. But if not Dakota, then I'm not sure who. Taynara maybe? Jessamyn or Marina? Tony Nese and Angel Garza fought for #1 contendership to Lio Rush's Cruiserweight title and I just love everything about Angel Garza. I love his appearance, I love the way he carries himself and his presence, and I love his ring work. The only thing I don't really like is his finisher, it's awkward as hell and I don't think it fits him. But otherwise, he's great. Good solid match that had Angel making fun of Tony Nese for awhile early on, and then one of the single greatest spots I've ever seen when Tony Nese powerbombed the pants off Angel Garza...literally tearing the pants off him and powerbombing the pants and nothing else. It's on WWE's youtube if you didn't see it, just go watch it, it's amazing. I was thrilled that Garza won the match, and I loved that he slapped the taste out of Lio Rush's mouth when Rush came out to congratulate him afterwards. Angel Garza only debuted a couple months ago in that Breakout Tournament but I think he's gone the furthest out of all 8 of those guys in terms of getting over already. Isaiah "Swerve" Scott vs Dominik Dijakovich was surprisingly good. I expected Swerve would get some offense in, but I thought this would ultimately be a match for Dominik to look strong in. I was wrong. This was a great example on how to elevate both opponents even though 1 wins and 1 lost. Swerve looked amazing, executed breathtaking moves, and had tenacity that made me genuinely believe he was gonna upset Dominik. Even when he lost, it was only just barely and I loved how Dominik caught him. Side note - They showed 2 or 3 little video promo packages as they came back from commercial breaks, I remember seeing them for Angel and for Swerve and someone else. I really like those, it's helpful when trying to establish new talent. Main event time, OC vs Ciampa/Lee/Riddle. I love how this started off, with a big fight and craziness. We got to see AJ square off with all 3 of his opponents at some point during this, and it was a lot of fun. I was expecting the OC to get the win here over Lee or maybe Riddle, but I am also fine with the match just being thrown out. The finish was absolutely excellent though - Keith Lee pouncing AJ Styles into the referee for the ref bump was amazingly well timed and executed. Normally, I see a spot like that coming from a mile away because everyone will begin moving into place in a somewhat obvious way. However, this time it happened so naturally that I didn't even realize what was about to happen until the ref went flying and I was like :O Well done. Matt Riddle nearly killed himself when he tried for his dive over the ropes and didn't quite clear it, but thankfully he's ok. Finn Balor coming out was freakin perfect, Bullet Club reunion there and it made sense. Adam Cole coming out was very surprising but I also loved it because AJ had been calling him out and Cole hit both AJ and Tomasso because he hates both those guys. Absolutely perfect. Rumor is we might get the OC + Balor vs Undisputed Era vs Team NXT (DIY/Lee/Riddle) in War Games. I think that's probably true, although I'm not a fan of us having 2 war games matches in a single night. I thought the women were gonna get it this year, which would've made more sense seeing as the Undisputed Era has all the gold and putting them in War Games means no title matches, but I guess we're gonna go that route anyway. I'd guess we'll get an NXT UK title match at War Games just so we can have a title match, cause literally every other NXT Champion will be involved in a War Games match. But at the same time, that helps ensure there's no spoilers related to Survivor Series plans. After all, all the champions are supposed to be facing Raw/Smackdown champions there too and if we book Undisputed Era to face Viking Raiders and Revival in a Raw/SD/NXT triple threat tag match, it kind of takes the wind out of the sails of any other tag title match any of those teams might have because we know they're gonna win, otherwise they wouldn't advertise the match in the first place. Anyway, amazingly solid NXT this week, even more so than usual. I believe I liked NXT better than AEW Dynamite this week, but only just slightly. They went neck and neck in ratings this week as well, Dynamite narrowly winning at 822,000 viewers to NXT's 817,000 or so. Exciting times!

  14. I get WWE Fan Council Survey e-mails a couple times each month. So today I got one, and I thought "HERE. WE. GO." I rated HIAC very poorly. They give you a big text box to write Why in, and here's what I wrote them.

  15. It's my opinion that this change was inevitable, it just required a large enough portion of the population having reliable and affordable access to internet that's fast enough to allow the service to exist. Physical media is becoming less and less prominent as our streaming and digital capabilities increase and make it easier for everyone to buy music, shows, movies, and games online rather than on a CD or DVD from the store. Games have held on but we've been seeing this ramp up for years, even if we're only looking at consoles. They heavily rely on people who buy consoles to have internet, so they can send system updates to your X-Box or Playstation, you can download DLC's, you can download free or retro games from X-Box or Playstation Online stores as well as buy brand new games that way and just download them. So the idea that we're moving on to a streaming service where you don't even need to buy a console, just a controller and a USB stick to plug in to this particular streaming service isn't surprising. I think that's a lot cheaper for a company than manufacturing an X-Box and selling that for a few hundred dollars. Instead they just ship out tons of USB sticks (if you even need one) and a controller and pay for servers to handle the data load, and boom. Still gotta have enough computing power to play the games smoothly, but I feel like it may be easier long term. I dunno for sure though. Regardless, get used to it. 5G internet is right around the corner, and we're finally seeing Gaming Subscription services begin to take hold and fight for supremacy. Within a year, I'd imagine 1 or 2 of them will be touted as the premiere/best service to choose while the others may still be around, but struggling.

  16. First ever live episodes of NXT weekly TV are done, and here's what I thought of them. We started off on the USA Network for hour 1 which included a women's #1 contendership match and a North American Championship match, while hour 2 would feature a street fight main event on the WWE Network. For this week and next week, NXT will air the first hour live on the USA Network and the 2nd hour live on WWE Network because Suits is having their 2 part series finale this week and next week. Beginning October 2nd and beyond, both hours of NXT will air live on the USA network (but they'll be available the following evening on the WWE Network, so watch AEW Wednesdays live and then watch NXT later) I loved the intro at the very beginning with Triple H's head in front of black background, followed by the reveal that it was just the black stage curtain and he went out there live. I thought that was a fantastic way to start this new era of NXT off. I know you could say that's Triple H stroking his ego a bit and I don't think that'd be wrong to say, but at the same time I think he's earned it. Plus it was very brief. I'd have been bothered if he went out and cut a 10 minute long promo, but this was just 2 minutes and then we're off and running. Plus, Triple H has done the wrestling world right by his booking/handling of NXT and I have 0 problems showing him appreciation for it. It felt very appropriate. So we start off with the 4-way women's match for the #1 contendership with Mia Yim, Bianca Bel'Air, Io Shirai, and Candace LaRae. This was fun, and I think it was a pretty dang good match. Much better than most women's matches on Raw/Smackdown. 4 Ways usually are fun though. Anyway, I had expected Mia Yim to win but Candace was the other most logical choice. Surprised she beat Yim to do it but that makes sense too, given that Shirai just turned heel and needs protecting to solidify her in that role and while Candace should eventually beat Io for revenge, we don't need to blow that in a 4-way. KEITH LEE VS DOMINIK DIJAKOVIC NEXT WEEK? HELL YES. Sean Maluta came out and I recognized him, so that's nice. I'd be happy if he has a permanent spot in NXT, I think the guy is gonna keep growing and getting better. Surprised he was facing Cameron Grimes, and I think it's important to note who gets featured on these first couple of episodes. Probably is a good indicator of who is being focused on as we move forward. Interesting to see that Grimes, not Jordan, is the one featured on episode 1. That leaping stomp was probably the first really good one I've seen him do that looked emphatic enough to win. Not sure how I feel about his gimmick. On one hand I like his appearance, it's very wild west/cowboy to me without going super far in being campy (Thank goodness he's not wearing chaps or cowboy boots), buuuut I still don't know his actual character well enough to like or dislike him yet. Damien Priest gets a video package too, not surprised. I loved this video package for Dream/Strong. They showed it last week too, and I think it's one of the best ones they've ever done. The transitions, the ambiance, the way Dream appears to control the video at times. It's all really really well done, and I think that really helps new fans to NXT get a sense of who both these guys are but also makes them seem important - after all, you don't get awesome video packages if you're a nobody. The match itself was quite good, the ending was great. I half expected the Undisputed Era to jump Roderick Strong and kick him out, but instead they helped him secure the victory which was also good. Velveteen Dream looked like a star and they did a good job protecting him with the way this loss happened. Undisputed Era gonna be runnin wild on NXT, whatchu gonna do, brother? Pete and Arturo was a weird match, mostly because of Arturo. I feel bad for him, I get the feeling wrestling is not coming as easy for him as other people. The reason I think that is because of the stats Mauro was mentioning about him, they said he went something like 11 years undefeated in something else and his champions experience in other sports...normally those types of accolades result in early pushes for rookies like that, but not for Arturo. Maybe it's his look, maybe he just isn't progressing as fast as others before him have, I dunno. He's got flashes of good stuff, though. Anyway, I'm not a huge fan of Pete submitting people with the finger snap stuff. I totally believe it, BUT I just think the Bitter End is a better way to go. But I <3 Pete Dunn. Glad he's here. Xia Li vs Aaliyah - Man, surprised to see this match, but Xia has some serious moves. It's unfortunate she botched her top rope spinning kick cause that thing is absolutely amazing when she nails it. She hit it perfectly a few weeks ago, but not on this night. Oh well, she still won and that should tell you that they want to do more with her. As they should, she's got crazy skills physically. Hopefully they can do more to get her over as a personality than just "She's a Chinese woman!" IMPERIUM. WOW. DID NOT EXPECT THAT. I love how the crowd was chanting for Walter, even "Where's Walter?" and then he came out. I thought for a second they were gonna tease us, give us the 3 other members but save Walter for something else, but nope, he came out. And adding Kushida to it was so unexpected but lovely, really gave me something more to latch on to Kushida with. It was pretty badass of him to march down to the ring, tell them it was his time now, and fight them off. That jacket slipping off spot was fkn brilliant and I feel like that happened in Back To The Future but I can't remember for sure. It felt like Kushida was Ant Man taking shots against Thanos (Walter) and escaping, but it was cool. Oney Lorcan vs Lio Rush, #1 Contendership CW title - Heck yea Lio Rush is back, good for him. He's too good to be stuck as a jobber mouthpiece of anyone. Him and Oney had a hellacious match, I loved the physicality, and I honestly expected Oney to win. It made more sense to me than Lio, I thought Lio was gonna have a road to redemption but I guess he's already there. And that's totally ok too, Lio and Gulak should be good. I said this waaaaay back in 2016 when 205 Live was still new, that they'd do much much better if they presented the show from the same venue every week like NXT does. Now, here they are. Folding that division into NXT is absolutely the best thing for all those guys, cause they'll get the respect and adoration they deserve from NXT crowds. Matt Riddle vs Killian Dain - Solid brawl for when it was just these 2 guys, but honestly I don't even remember much of their fight, I mostly just remember Walter grabbing Matt Riddle and I instantly began thinking of Walter vs Riddle and how much I would love to see that. Then seemingly EVERYONE gets involved in a big backstage fight the likes of which I can't remember seeing since the Invasion in 2001, the night Stone Cold returned as THE OLD STONE COLD. I was seriously expecting a big return or debut in the middle of the brawl when a lot of people were in the ring, but that didn't happen. Kind of bummed the match sort of just got canceled I guess? There was a point near the end where Dain was alone in the ring and I felt like he was looking for Riddle but he couldn't find him and it was like "Ok well I guess we're done then". Not sure if that was the best ending, but it wasn't the worst either. It was good, just unexpected. Overall, I enjoyed it. It felt like NXT, just a bit longer. Fingers crossed it stays awesome.

  17. I must be in the minority because that's a few people and reviews who've said they didn't like the casino battle royale, but I did. I liked it a lot. I thought they did a great job highlighting people. My only complaints against it was the mis-timing where the countdown occurred, but then Nyla Rose was given a few more seconds to eliminate the last person before the next group came down. Also Bhea Priestley's weird no-sell of the press slam she was given was kind of odd. But basically production stuff was my only complaint here - that mistimed countdown, and the missing eliminations due to camera angles (or the awkwardly timed elimination of Awesome Kong). Happy with Nyla Rose winning although I had bet on Britt Baker and that stings. I LOVE Jack Evans and Angelico and I had hoped they'd win here, but it makes sense for Private Party to be on a roll as they look towards facing the Young Bucks soon. Nice tag match, excellent finish. Team Dinosaur vs SCU was nice and solid as well, very entertaining. I was also surprised Team Dinosaur lost, but the commentary made the excellent point a few times about SCU's combined experience being basically 3 times what Team Dinosaur has, and that made a big difference for them. But still, they looked good in defeat and everyone's a winner here. Pac vs Omega was on surprisingly early, but that's alright. Real good psychology in this match, and they told a very believable story in Omega still being too focused on Moxley to properly deal with Pac and it ultimately cost him the match. I bet on Omega to win too, so damn it. But I'm happy, Pac has always been a favorite of mine since I first saw him as Adrian Neville and I'm glad to see him get such a big win. Triple threat match was great, I thought it had a great mix of hardcore and wrestling. The tape stuff with Jimmy Havoc was excellent when complete, but they had some trouble executing it and that hurt the presentation. I also wish they'd have shown us Havoc breaking free of the taped chair, but all we saw was Darby dive on to Havoc and he was suddenly out of the chair. Regardless, sick bumps and brutality, I dug it. I had bet on Darby Allin to win this one, Jimmy Havoc winning was a bit out of left field for me. Riho and Hikaru Shida was solid as well, I also bet on Riho (Especially with Nyla Rose winning). I'm not sure who'll be the first women's champion, but I lean towards Nyla Rose. Cody and Shawn Spears was excellent. No reason was given for the Star Trek cosplay, I assume it was done simply because it'd be different and cool. Not sure why DDP was there instead of Dustin, but ok. I did feel bad for Pharoah, poor dog was very freaked out. But at least he didn't have to stay at ringside for the match, and the cameras did a good job of not putting him on screen too much during the entrance. Clearly MJF will turn on Cody someday, but I expect a slow burn on that. The duality of Brandi and MJF's heel/face stuff is interesting too, but I'd prefer they figure that out and make them 1 or the other. Young Bucks vs Lucha Bros was excellent. There were rumors before the show that Ray Fenix was hurt, something about his leg and him barely working other shows leading up to this. I think there may have been something to that, as there were 2 or 3 spots Fenix did during the match where he seemed to pause for just a half of a second before leaping into whatever he was doing. He nailed it every time, he even slipped on rope walks and still managed to salvage it, so he handled himself. But yea, this was quite bonkers. I picked Lucha Bros to win and I'm glad they did. I love the Bucks but I figure they want to focus on the AEW tag titles for right now. I assume the Lucha Bros are probably gonna take the AAA tag titles back there, lose them, and hopefully come back to AEW full time. Adam Page and Chris Jericho was good. I wasn't expecting it to be match of the year quality, but I knew it'd be solid work and it was. Great story telling, some blood, and Jericho ultimately used his experience to beat the much younger and undisputedly better physical specimen of Adam Page. That Judas Effect he nailed was the first one that looked really really good, looked like he knocked Adam Page right out with that. Those rolling forearms were sick too. I do suspect Jericho bladed for that first one, given how he rolled outside and was completely off camera for a good 15 seconds or so. But that's ok with me, honestly. I don't want anyone going into crimson mask territory like Dustin did at Double or Nothing, but a little blood here and there adds a nice touch. Overall, really solid show. Commentary was miles better having Goldenboy instead of Alex Marvez on there. Production was overall pretty good, the only bumps in that sticking out to me were from the battle royale. I can nitpick a few camera shots here and there (Like Isaiah Kassidy diving to the outside and posing wasn't caught very well during Private Party vs Evans/Angelico). But mostly, good show. Also it was really great that the Chicago crowd boo'd the heels (mostly) and cheered the faces (mostly). And believe it or not, not a single CM Punk chant all night! How about that. I guess all you need to do to avoid CM Punk chants is put on a show that's predominantly good. Who'd of guessed...

  22. My intention is to start a website about fiction writing, that will encourage new writers to showcase their work. The trouble is that I cannot settle on a name for it. Here is the ideas I have had so far. ( All ending .com ) askywriter, waywardlines, booksaredead, thecyberpen, aspellbinder, thevividlines, stirringink, fictionforums, thepenpusher, afictionist. Are any of these any good? Any other ideas from anyone, please?

  23. I don't have a social media account, but I've used it to impress clients and bosses before. Mainly just by looking at their info and seeing what they're into and slipping something into the conversation, so I'm relatable and memorable. I also use it to rattle the competition. People share all sorts of stuff online like when they're going through a divorce, having problems with their kids, and so on. The best ever was when I had checked out the wife's account and she was posting quotes about relationships being hard work. I eventually saw enough that I figured he was having an affair. During the video conference it took about a minute to suss out that he was messing with his secretary who was also int the room. I spent a good five minutes asking about his wife and kids and talking about their previous summer vacation they took as a family. You know, because I was looking for recommendations and it looked like they had such a great time as a family and such and such place. He was sweating bullets and looked guilty. The secretary looked upset. It was awesome! Guy agreed to everything just to get rid of me. That was a rare moment though. Usually it's just about slipping in little things and it can't be done often.

  25. I’m actually thinking of writing something. I got the characters in my mind already and I’m trying to write some plots. Sometimes I just trap myself into my fictional world and I really enjoy that. I wonder any of you guys also like writing stories. Maybe we can exchange some thoughts and experience as well!

  26. He's just seemed different to me the past couple of years. Like he shows up because it's his job, but he'd rather be doing something else. He's been at it a long time, so maybe he's just bored with it. Or maybe it's me and I'm seeing something that isn't there. I wonder if MJF regrets flipping the kid off during the meet and greet. The dad seemed to get it that MJF was working his gimmick, but still thought it was too much. MJF is young and I bet he didn't think it through before doing it. It's a bit ridiculous to hate on the bloke though, I remember going to events like that as a lad and the heels acted like heels. It's what you're there to see. That particular persona. @Knox Dustin and Cody tag team during the Fyter Fest PPV. That PPV wasn't the best, but the tag team match was fantastic. The PPV wasn't bad. It just wasn't a favourite of mine. You should watch their Dynamite weekly programme.

  29. Oh yea I'm still very happy with it. I know that I'm not totally cutting edge, I'd have to get an i9 or Ryzen 9 or Threadripper processor and a 2080 Ti or even a RTX Titan if I really wanted to hit it. But it's not just about being top of the line to me, it's also about cost effectiveness. I'm at the point where I'm about maxed out in terms of a reasonable cost-to-performance ratio. If I wanted to get higher, it'd cost thousands and thousands of dollars and I wouldn't really be getting that much more out of it, so it's not worth it in my mind and I'm not bothered by it. That bleeding edge thing, I experienced that TWICE. 2011 - I have the chance to finally get a new computer built after owning the same one for 7 years. Designed it through Cyberpowerpc.com back then because I didn't trust myself to put it together yet. Unfortunately, this was Feb/March of 2011 so while SATA 6 and USB 3.0 had just come out, they were still too expensive for me to get a motherboard with those capabilities. So I was stuck on SATA 3 and USB 2.0 connections til I build my next computer in 2017. 2017 - I BOUGHT a computer from BestBuy because I had a bestbuy credit card. Bought a decent system, it was an FX-8350 with a GTX 1060 6GB, 128GB SSD and 1TB HD, 16GB Ram. Major upgrade from what I previously had (Phenom X6 1100T with a 560 Ti and GT 430 as dedicated PhysX card, 1 TB regular HD SATA-3, and 8GB of RAM). So at FIRST I was real happy. But about 2 or 3 weeks later, a friend of mine expressed interest in also getting a new PC. I recommended him the one I just bought and went to BestBuy to find him the link, when I discovered all these new "Ryzen" PC's out and I was confused because I hadn't seen those just a couple weeks earlier when I bought mine. Ryzen 1st gen was released like, 2 or 3 weeks after I bought that PC and I was so...frustrated. I ended up selling the BestBuy Computer, somehow I got more for it than I paid (I paid 997, sold it for 1200, got real lucky there) and used that money to build my own computer for the first time. Ryzen 1600x, 16 GB Ram at 3000 MHZ, 250 GB SSD, 1 TB HD, GTX 1070 PNY OC Edition. That's the system I just upgraded from, and I managed to upgrade the GPU from that 1070 to a EVGA 1080 SC model thanks to craigslist. Sold my 1070 after, only cost me 25 bucks in the end to upgrade, woo. Anyway, that Ryzen 1600x system still is rockin. I got it ready for sale, it's wiped clean and only has Overwatch on there to provide a real time example for anyone who wants to buy it from me. Nearly 3 years old and it still gets 120FPS on Ultra settings on a 2K HD Monitor. I'm so proud of it. <3

  30. Rewatch as in background I don't have to pay attention too and is better than the BS on terrestrial... Archer and Rick and Morty. Also South Park, Family Guy and American Dad. Rewatch as in pay attention to, pretty much any Joss Whedon show, but I don't really have time to even keep up with the current stuff I watch, so that doesn't happen.

  42. I've always been impressed too, and I'm usually as snarky as can be when it comes to reality programmes. But then again, I'm not much in the kitchen, so maybe that has something to do with it. Anyway, she's complained about the dishes not being inventive enough and the judges picking winners for the drama that they bring to the table. In other words, she thinks this season hasn't focused enough on talent.

  44. Let's hear the brilliant life tips you've learned over the years. It's fine to list something you learned from another party as well. I'm ridiculously ace at procrastinating, like right now, when I should get on with the work report that are due tomorrow morning. My life tip is that when you're ill-prepared for a meeting, you should show up early. Get there first, pull out some of your materials, and keep a pen in hand or the laptop nearby. Your co-workers who enter after you are more likely to think you're prepared and that you know what you're talking about. That makes them more susceptible to the bs you're about to spin.

  45. Good news everyone, we're back in business. Sony and Disney reached a new deal, though the details of that deal have not been released. So Spider Man 3 will be a MCU movie, and Spider Man is currently scheduled to be in another non-Spider Man MCU movie. Maybe Avengers, or something else who knows. I'd also bet on Venom being added to the MCU at some point.

  48. It's definitely going to make things more interesting come Wednesday nights - I just hope both do well. I really want AEW to succeed, it's been too long since WWE had a serious competitor. I also wonder how WWE is going to fair with even more live programming each week. I've already said in the past it's just too much each week, even though I'm sure the NXT brand will have a different feel to Raw/Smackdown, it's still WWE. For a PPV week they'll have over 10 hours of live programming
