If you are desperate to satisfy your inner daredevil this year, you might want to try one of the many extreme sports. There are plenty of advantages to participating in extreme sports. Did you know by pushing your body to the limit you can get the same euphoric high that you receive when you take a drug like an ecstasy? It’s true, scaring your brain into thinking you’re about to die. Or, putting yourself in apparent danger is a great way to get those endorphins flowing and kick up your levels of adrenaline. Once you’ve completed the activity, you’ll find that you have never felt more alive. But which extreme, awesome sport should you try.
If you love the idea of throwing yourself off a building and knowing that you won’t crash into the ground you might want to try bungee jumping. The sport can be highly dangerous if the measurements and mathematical calculations aren’t correct. So, you need to make sure that you try this with a professional, qualified company. Many people also often experience severe side effects from this activity. Now that we’ve got the technical bits out of the way let’s describe how it feels to go bungee jumping. It’s a lot like diving into a pool, multiplying the sense of speed and danger by a thousand. It can feel like your heart is going to stop and as you plunge stories down you want to scream, but the air is being taken away from you. It’s also wickedly fast with the experience only lasting a few seconds. So, be sure to enjoy it while it lasts.
Of course, if you want something that takes a little more time, try skydiving. You still get that wonderful feeling of plummeting down to the ground. But, unlike bungee jumping, you get a little more time to enjoy the high heights.
A mixture of surfing and skateboarding longboarding is a tad trickier than both. More dangerous than surfing? It depends on where you try and longboard. Most hardcore longboarders complete their activities on long, steep roads. Actually, the steeper the road, the better the experience because it will allow you to pick up serious speed. You might find that it’s easier to steer a longboard compared with a skateboard because longboards give you more mass to play with. You can also make sharper turns, boosting your level of agility. The danger here is that you’ll fall off the board or hit a car coming the other way. Although, once you make it to the bottom of the hill we bet you’ll have a massive smile that won’t fade for the rest of the day.
Hey, how about free climbing to test how crazy you really are? Free climbing is exactly how it sounds. You climb up a mountain without any safety gear at all. Well, you might wear a helmet and some padding. But you can kiss could by to the harness and the pegs to get you up that cliff face. It’s just you and the mountain, often literally because most free climbers climb alone. That means if you do make a mistake, there’s no one there to save you. You might remember Tom Cruise completing this feat in the opening of MI2. The only difference is he did actually have a whole crew around him when completing the stunt.
Do any of these sports quench your thirst for danger and adventure?
